POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I'm a poet, by accident...Have found no other way to express what I feel in various situations, and so want to retain that feeling forever for remembrance in the form of poetry.
For a Change
Sometimes just stretching your lips to pass a smile at those whom you take pride in ignoring and at times insulting just for fun could ease their pain and discomfort in an alien environment.

A Drop of Me
A drop of me is there in you
When the corner of your eye
Has a bead inclined
With regret, anger, grief or delight
A drop of me is there in you
When the centre of your eye
Looks straight into mine
With love, doubt, hope or prying
A drop of me will burn you
When the heart of your eye
Will look inside
With shame, disgust, guilt or chide.
When the corner of your eye
Has a bead inclined
With regret, anger, grief or delight
A drop of me is there in you
When the centre of your eye
Looks straight into mine
With love, doubt, hope or prying
A drop of me will burn you

Will look inside

Sometimes just flipping through photos of strangers to connect the story of your life with theirs is needed to surrender your gushing thoughts to just calmly saunter with your eyes.

Devolved Ego-- Yours or Mine?
Young, energetic, and rebellious
Is that your ego?
Well, meet mine--
Patient, graceful, and composed
Slightly mature than yours.
Oh! they had a clash today
Yours mocked mine--
In that momentary boil of anger and attitude
Mine stayed calm--
To abate your boiled over insult of mine
With its controlled, constant pressure
Both failed.
Oh! it led to the intervention of that super-ego.
Silence surrounds both.
But, which one is the
Devolved ego-- yours or mine?

Got Something in My Eye
The moment they crowd me
With those inquisitive, mocking eyes
With that foul, sympathetic voice
With that gossipy, blabbering tongue
With that mind so grown, so young
To know why do I cry
I say, "I got something in my eye."
The moment they free me
With that insatiable, careless turn
With that pretentious, ignorant yearn
With that memorable, forgetful spurn
With that regretful, negligible concern
To show they tried to get by
I say, "I got something in my eye."
No, it wasn't a cry.

Pity
I pity the literate, grown up, adult-to-be boys studying in academic institutions and adopting the ways of the world of men by learning and experimenting modes of harassment and crossing THAT line for FUN upon the basic source of knowledge and learning, inhabiting a feminine body in a workplace of education!

I'm not judgmental but I constantly evaluate people. It hurts when they fail my evaluation test.

Breath
There's that red breeze of piercing, soothing enigma
(They call it love)
Gently passed by like a stranger's abysmal stare
Oh! I forgot to inhale!
Breathe in, breathe out
They can't let it stay.
And I forgot to inhale!
There's that black breeze of someone's consumption
Take it back
Oh no, you exhaled!
Mingled it with the common, broke it into pieces.
There's that new shade of red
Ripe and untouched
Take a deep breath
Consume it voraciously
Only to exhale it back, to make it black
Did I say I forgot to inhale?
Oh...
(They call it love)

Oh! I forgot to inhale!
Breathe in, breathe out
They can't let it stay.

Nothing New
Years go by and I realize
What I am and what was I
Nothing new
The same eastern eyes
Blink a lot, without a lie
Drop some tears, without a cry
The same hidden heart
Beats a lot, yet very shy
Breaks at times, continues to try
The same maudlin mind
Thinks a lot, for reasons to deny
Escapes their blames, lingers on to justify
Years go by and I realize
I am still the same
Roam around to occupy--
Nothing New
What I am and what was I
Nothing new
The same eastern eyes
Blink a lot, without a lie
Drop some tears, without a cry
The same hidden heart
Beats a lot, yet very shy
Breaks at times, continues to try
The same maudlin mind
Thinks a lot, for reasons to deny
Escapes their blames, lingers on to justify
Years go by and I realize

Doubts (a day before the birth day)
Cold
inside or outside
let's talk, less talk
a wounding whisper - chatter
feel it, heal it
Paper
smooth or wrinkled
a zigzag road of words - birds
free, flying, meeting - cheating
read it, leave it
Eyes
open or close
oh! look, don't look
a river dried up - flood
flowing, slowing, dying - crying
saw them, saw you
Life
had or have
live it, leave it
a battle with oneself - infinity
cold, paper, eyes - LIFE
felt, read, saw - not yet!

Remember Me By
Remember me by the color of the sky
Light, moving, rainy when it wants to cry
Remember me by the cat passing by
Casual, bored, but doesn't want to die
Remember me by the adept, adamant fly
Visiting, revisiting, how much you try
Remember me by the beggar you deny
Passive, pliant, never intended to pry
Remember me by my last reply
Awry, candid, or was it sly?
Light, moving, rainy when it wants to cry
Remember me by the cat passing by
Casual, bored, but doesn't want to die

Goodbye 2012
Too long, too much, too many
But here it ends now.
Goodbye 2012, honey!
This year was really wow!
January brought some surprises
New faces, hugs, took a bow!
Foes in friendly disguises
God! you trusted them how!
February, March, April, May,
Lived life like here and now
Days went splendidly in making hay,
Had a new "best friend" alone for all favors to bestow
June, July, and August
Passed quickly under Summer's brow
Smothered Reason with faith's dust
But lo! storm arrived all blindfolds to withdraw.
