POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
XoXoXo(XXXX)
You were born translucent
And like everyone who is not the hundredth monkey
You arrived deliciously green and ordinary
You were composed in a rhythm
(Of which you may always deny)
But you were woven and wired to grow inside
Your ancestrally thickened skin
Which has subsequently afforded you the armoury
To dive deep into the coldest sea
And drift away from the shore that shaped the bad and the best in you
And it is the might of this mind set adrift that astounds me
You float on bold musings and left...

(Others)
What if we were to freely Be
With no more thought for segregation
Among the crowds of our own likeness
Then would we be liberated
Into actual evolution
With no further attraction
To the goals of victors
Or the creed of being defeated
And see a world cohesive
As made in our finest image
A world adorned with mindful mirrors
All of those Others
Standing upright;
Blameless and whole
Without the fold of fists
But with palms up and unfurled
Each eye reflecting each other
Another savior of...

My (C)all
It started with an assertive bellow
And over time mellowed and slackened
To become a diluted undertone
That still called for you to come home
To come without the stagger or sidle
But to enter bearded with wisdom;
Flecked with the grey of the determined
And a talent for holding heart in both hands
Assured and certain
With a mind wired for mercy
Broadened and open
And a willingness to be satisfied
Or just to come as you are
And over time mellowed and slackened
To become a diluted undertone
That still called for you to come home
To come without the stagger or sidle
But to enter bearded with wisdom;
Flecked with the grey of the determined
And a talent for holding heart in both hands
Assured and certain
With a mind wired for mercy
Broadened and open
And a willingness to be satisfied

Images you (P)refer
You've looked from afar for so long now
And seen with short sighted hooded eyes
that squint from too much time spent trying
to know the shape of the sun
And when you do decide to glance this way
You think you know what you are looking at
But your left brain has shaded the right brains preference
And your perspective is in fact a small collection
of ancient ideas and fallen idols
that you've made up and knocked down
more than once
as you've stumbled and swayed and fallen
And with the developing space behind your eyes
being soaked in...

An Open(ed) Letter
Admit,
that concealed inside
is that which by design
is to be declared
and yet,
you clutch dear and offer
a censored and finely veiled
version of your person
as if to bare your internal workings
would leave you weak and depleted;
exposed to delusions of decay
and yes,
the spectres have sensed it;
your scent emitting your significance -
and they have sniffed around your merit
and have scratched upon your shield;
they have paced beneath your purity
to incite your luminosity
toward the possessive pack embrace ...

Lately I’ve Been (q)uantum
what I’d like to convey is that lately I've been found
in my mind, in those places long thought lost
I've found myself, wandering
past the ramblings of my mind
into the pardoned places;
inventive spaces, in my mind
where the ideas hustle
in my mind, uncomplicated spots
abandoned by the usual juries
in my mind, exonerated plots
where troubled times decayed
baring now some fruitful soil
in my mind, unreserved states
where I can sit uninvited and at home
in my mind, clean slates
where I can pen the past free.
