POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Destiny Without
It was the low hum of the earth.
Her majestic alibi.
The hard pressed nose of the blood hound, tracking
Forward towards the blood boiled sin
Of man.
Dressed in a white God left for the children of death
Her beauty bestowed and stripped clean of all lust.
I felt the fermentation of all things rotten within my violet
Pulse.
It fled from me that low hum.
On ashen wings with the eyes of wild horses.
Sought amongst bramble and wire haired servants of
Earth.
I laid into pursuit of that majesty.
Torn asunder was my...

Sparks
I don’t want to chase the sparks anymore
My life is dying out
Like light on some fading northern shore
At midnight.
Is this all that’s left for us to hang in the galleries and in the gardens
I don’t want to go to the city anymore
And I don’t want to die in the fucking country.
Did God or the devil not create a place so grand to escape the otherworldly mentality I keep breathing in
Do horses not still run free
Outside all the gates we’ve built.
But what’s the outside to a man
If the world was built from within
I don’t think...

Up from the Ground, All Around
Soil is dirt and wind is air. Water falls and river flows. One buries us, one drowns our sins, the other just dries us out. Preachers preach but pastures raise the livestock. Dogs bark at passing cars, wolves howl at the moon. All of them will be the death of me. Love is dead and truth is empty. Both are sweet but both won't help me. My long lost brother once told me if I pick up stones and bust out windows then I won't be so angry. He bled out on broken glass. Time is up and far gone, we pack our bags and head on home. Right up the old mountain and into the sky where the water falls, the...

Motives
I am not just another strung out face in a crowd.
I am a chipped and beaten brick in a wall that's collapsed.
You can try to make me smile but my mind has been snapped.
Does he pull your hair like this?
If you'd let me tell what my bankrupt mouth feeds my ATM mind, then maybe you'd be the only thing I never leave.
I've got the keys to fuckin' Mercedes and the number to your phone.
I'm looking up at you as you throw back your head.
Give it like the drugs in your veins to the pops from the pain around neck.
Here we are breaking each other.
