Growing Up
I can’t believe you will be 18 in just a few weeks
No matter how hard I try
I still see this little girl
Her bubbly laughter
A temper to match no others
Beautiful red headed girl
Who laughs and is so outgoing
A little girl who had no worries
Now I see this beautiful young woman
So full of life
So excited about the world ahead of her
I can’t believe you will be in college in the fall
The years have flown by and before we know it
You will be the mom and I understand everything I have been telling you
The past few years...
No matter how hard I try
I still see this little girl
Her bubbly laughter
A temper to match no others
Beautiful red headed girl
Who laughs and is so outgoing
A little girl who had no worries
Now I see this beautiful young woman
So full of life
So excited about the world ahead of her
I can’t believe you will be in college in the fall
The years have flown by and before we know it
You will be the mom and I understand everything I have been telling you
The past few years...

Alone
To you I am just another face in the crowd
You do not see the tears I cry
You do not hear my screams
You do not have a clue of this pain
The agony I feel
The pain so deep
The sting so strong
The aching that only I can know
A sensation inside
A sense of emptiness
An effortless smile hides the pain
An expected laugh covers the screams
The Screams pounding in my head
The sound shattering the silence
The silence burning and aching in my head
Can’t you hear me?...
You do not see the tears I cry
You do not hear my screams
You do not have a clue of this pain
The agony I feel
The pain so deep
The sting so strong
The aching that only I can know
A sensation inside
A sense of emptiness
An effortless smile hides the pain
An expected laugh covers the screams
The Screams pounding in my head
The sound shattering the silence
The silence burning and aching in my head
Can’t you hear me?...
