Realizations
(This poem was inpired by the very first line. My friend had posted it on twitter and I took a much deeper meaning out of it than she really intended it to be, but thank you Nancy!!)
I started thinking about my future and I got scared, so I got myself a bowl of ice cream.
It was the only innocent thing I could remember
Time has gone by so fast and childhood seems like its only a dream
But somewhere in my mind I still live when toys were alive and talked back
I built roads in towns of imaginary people to help get them where they needed to be
And every bad guy was...

Shamefaced
(i wrote this inspired by a girl that i have a crush on it is musically based but these are just the words. ENJOY!)
if only i could give you this note to show you how i feel
cause perfect words escape my thoughts whenever you are real
exchange a glance and try to smile but i look down for comfort
oh god you’re beautiful and your gorgeous eyes, they make me suffer
i think i’ve fallen in love, oh how i long for you
a hand to hold, a kiss to share, my heart belongs to you
but what a coward i am, i have become so shy
god damn this timid...
if only i could give you this note to show you how i feel

Drifting
(i was driving home from college and the changing color of the leaves made me start thinking of this in my head. I'm iffy on this but i like it)
I can't begin to describe,
the beauty of fire in the sky,
and those mid-afternoon drives with you
We watched the flames drift down
and cover the ground
but we needed not know where we were
Hands clasped so tight
as we drove into the night
closed our eyes just to keep the secret
I never knew I could be so possessed by such a beautiful face

What is it?
i know i'll find myself, alone and hopeless
tangled in a familiar mess with a familiar breath upon my shoulder
dig in deeper just to know i'm not alone tonight
it's so hard to pretend this is something it isn't when at times it feels so right
looking back it just never made sense but looking back i cant say i regret it
right now its a common thought but in the future i just hope i forget it
my downfall that's all it is but i appreciate the recognition
it's so hard to pretend...
that this is something it isn't

Dear (girl),
nothin made me happier than when you said you were coming
i hadn't seen you in months and this weekend that would all change
i've always had a thing for you since we met freshman year
we were perfect for each other
we liked the same music and shared a lot of interests
after work you said you'd be here, you said we could hang

waterfalls never felt more sobering than when you left that day
the passions of a moment, the waves, took you away

The Architect
Watch the architect as he builds these walls.
Keeping out everything that has a possible chance to hurt him.
Building this fortress he shields himself from all.
All because of a shattered heart, his only reason.
Brick by brick, memory by memory he isolates himself.
He doesn’t want any connection or relation.
He’s been hurt before but with his kingdom of stone, never again.
Seclusion is the only way he knows.
As he sits in the world he created, the tears start to fall.
Recollections of the friends he had and the ones he loved fill his thoughts.
He waited...

Promise Me
Drowning in my troubles,
you’re the one to save me.
My life lies in your hands.
I’m contingent on your words.
I owe my happiness to you,
because you’re the one who brings it to me.
Promise me you won’t ever leave me.
Promise me you’ll always help.
I am depending on your love.
I would be nothing without you,
only a rotting corpse buried under six feat of agony.
The weight of suffering was crushing me.
Then you came along and freed me,
unlocked the shackles that kept me in the dark.

A Memory Never Remembered
You stare through me like a window.
I am of no significants to you.
Merely your shadow, noticed only but once in awhile.
Do you not see the way you glide?
I’ve got you on my shoulders.
I hold you high above the clouds.
You need not struggle.
From the day we met, you’ve been on top.
You sit upon your throne.
You are a queen and I, your servant.
I’d give my life for you.
To me you were worth it all, to you I was a burden.
I gave you everything, but you left.
I guess everything wasn’t enough.
I am trapped in the dark.
I am blind to all...

Endless Ocean
My mind.
A barren beach.
No obstruction, no interruptions.
My thoughts are like waves.
Waves that wash new ideas on shore.
Calm waves bring cool thoughts.
Thoughts of happiness and thoughts of love,
thoughts of the good times when I was young.
But pain crosses my mind.
The lightening strikes, the thunder roars, the waves grow.
Now rough waves bring thoughts of suffering.
Times when I sat in black,
tears on my cheeks, death on my mind.
I held a razor in my hand.
Tidal waves of anguish rip the shores apart like the blade that...
