Silent Circus
The circus fun-house was child's-play
designed to scare a crawling toddler,
cheap warped mirrors and bad actors
who half-heartedly jumped out of shadows.
Boredom drove me there alone,
by the time I left night had fallen
and so had an eerie shroud of silence
that surrounded every tent and ride
I scanned the grounds around the circus
and not one person did I spy.
Just blowing winds howling like ghosts
rocking Ferris wheel's creaking cradle,
lights still illuminating rides
a tickling chill ran down my spine...

One final adieu
We met on the same day
you turned another love away
didn't care
because I wanted you
as you wanted me too
Felt special for a while
awakened feelings of a child
new and number one to someone
and that someone was you
Said you saw my girl-like aura
detected hinting blush
I surrendered to your safety
set myself free to laugh again
swept inside emotion's
surging ocean (and I swam!)
But changing tides ripped me away
from your current point-of-view
Saw desires shift like tidal flows

Got a D on my Report Card
Got all A's on my report card
Except for that one D,
When I got home and mom was shown
She asked how this could be.
I said she shouldn't tell my dad
Since she was mad enough,
I got a D cause math for me
Just never added up.
Long division, algorithms
Didn't make much sense,
I'd rather study chemistry
And mix ingredients.
When dad got home he wasn't pleased
As he reviewed my grades,
My D in math had sparked his wrath
he flew into a rage.
I then ran straight up to my room
But he was right...

lucid suffering
I didn't break the window
but was broken as a child,
shattered just enough so I would
shy from my reflection.
My younger brother lied,
he threw the stone into the glass
but blamed me, knowing dad
would believe him, he always did.
Last night, dad was called out
with his two truck to get some car that crashed,
he returned with a huge whitetail buck
that had been struck during the wreck.
Dad said since the deer was dead
we should gut it and make some steaks.
But that deer was...

The other side
When I was but a younger lad
I thought the world was mine,
filled with thrills and hidden treasures
that I would someday find.
Our home was in the shadow of
a mountain tall and wide,
I dreamed one day I would explore
the mountain's other side.
Instead, I searched the open fields
and woods behind my home,
my wandering mind would only find
how much more I had grown.
Remained in my two bedroom house
and stayed in my hometown,
I built a life with my two hands
with two feet on the...

The pain within
The rain inside your brain
will only stop,
when reflections
on the wet cement
are drained of every drop.
The wound within your soul
you can assuage,
no comfort for
the fool who suffers,
choosing to be caged.
The torment in your sex
will acquiesce,
when dirt is plowed
exhume the shroud
entombed with shamefulness.
The pain within your heart
will disappear,
when once you face,
and then embrace,
the root of all your fears.

crippled child
The sound of 'pitter-patter' on your brain
is a cat outside your attic
tapping on the window pane.
The static wreaking havoc in your head
are the kittens falling victim
to your father, smothered dead.
The lightning you see flash before your eyes
are memories of violent streaks,
silent thunder-muffled cries.
The storm you sense is brewing in your soul
is a torment laying dormant,
as time ticks it takes its toll.
The steely handgun frozen in your hand,
is the crippled child you defiled
who then rose...

I'll be unconscious for you...
Your voice is like a silent shriek
spilling out into the empty air
I can see the words as you speak
I feel more than you could ever care.
I read your thoughts and they're void
blind to your cause-reaction lapse
transmitters singed, synapse destroyed
trapped in holes of your neuron gaps.
Say you're lost deep inside your mind
but your brain's just 5 inches thick
~ indifferent to my stimuli ~
I'll deaden pleasure centers quick.
Unconscious, I lie still for you

That kid had a slingshot mom
That kid had a slingshot mom
And so I threw my rock,
When I hit him in the head
He fell on the sidewalk.
I never would have thrown a stone
But when he aimed at me,
I'm glad I hit that little shit
Before he could hit me.
And so I threw my rock,
When I hit him in the head
He fell on the sidewalk.

I shot my brother in the eye
I shot my brother in the eye
with my new BB gun,
He ran home to mom and cried
and told her what I'd done.
It really was an accident
I pleaded with my mom,
She began to scream and yell
I told her to stay calm.
She then called my dad at work
explaining what I did,
overheard her say bad words
about her rotten kid.
She called paramedics
to rush an ambulance,
I thought my brother's eye was fine
it didn't make much sense.
But mom kept right on cursing
saying things I cannot mention,

One hundred hearts
Let your heart be brazen,
as a sheep stands in a field,
Grazing next to lions,
no mercy will they yield.
Purity and innocence
protects you from the pride,
A golden aura only lets
a chosen one inside.
Be not hardened by resolve
to quiet distant thunder,
For storms will scar a mighty swath
before they fall asunder.
You possess one hundred hearts;
a soul from ancient days,
Few who gain so much regard
extol such love and praise.
as a sheep stands in a field,
Grazing next to lions,
no mercy will they yield.
Purity and innocence
protects you from the pride,

Thunder in your heart
The thunder in your heart
is who you are,
The lightning is a rage
you cannot tame.
Your soul was adrift;
drifted next to mine,
But how can we be one
if not the same?
You were born a lone wolf
running free,
Always meant to be
out in the wild.
You were drawn into
the aura of my youth,
Thought I had the wonder
of a child.
The storm inside your head
would not subside,
I could never catch you
in the rain.
Caged your fleeing heart;
remained worlds apart,
I now...

you cannot tame.

But how can we be one
