Chaos
Trust of a tongue
is like fire to flesh
and sometimes the Devil
is he who knows best.
The crow flies a crooked line
as lovers’ cries
are lost in the night.
Stay in your bed while the madman rides
and avert your gaze from his horse’s eyes.
Snakes from the mouths
of ones we daren’t doubt
bear poison as wicked as

the blood of men too weak to stand.

A History of Fire
Cheek unto cheek
breath unto breath
in a web of life,
a blood-stained mess.
And I am the life,
you are the fire
breathing and burning
in the age-old pantomime.
Ingrained, the preferred,
previously interred.
Know the promise,
remember the pain
and forget the cynic’s evil refrain.
Kiss the scars, divide the skin
inhale the smoke
and let this begin.

Welcome to Hell

For knowing we must suffer
How ironic that our knowledge is the source of our struggle
Ignorance is bliss
Knowledge is suffering
The more I know, the blacker the void becomes
The more I know the more inevitable that end seems
Certain apocalypse closing in...Life’s flame flickers, sputters, fights to burn...then dies
For the oxygen is thicker than the cadence that the flame is accustomed to
And the wrath of god is our own sick self-torture
Encasing our minds in a torrent of glass...

And all we did was an illusion of progress
And all we hoped for was a catalyst for fear
And all we wanted was a piece of greatness
And when we fell we landed here
The ink has faded into blood
'Cause the words they weren't good enough
And the light at the end was just the train
These drugs meantto help just destroy my brain
And there's no point when every path is the same
There's no point when every road points to pain
The ones you love have no clue what goes on
In the hellish darkness that wrote this song

Love's Most Sinister Whisper
Whispers of a love long gone,
Ghosts of the past simply float on.
Painfully the banshee in your chest screams,
Then whispers the one thing that cannot be:
"I love thee, I love thee, oh why must I love thee
When I know that thou cannot, will never love me.
This blanket of comfort, this warmth within pain,
The soreness spreads at the sound of his name.
Enshrouded in wounds and the curse of affection
The friendship and fondness become an infection
And the levels of hell are all in the heart,
