All of this is so brand new

But I’m just a mess
You deserve so much better
The sun instead of stormy weather
Your own lover who’s not
Afraid of this
But no, you insist
It’s me, you want to kiss

I’m gonna open my eyes and see you smiling

I'll be fine tonight
Here's hoping you still care
Here's hoping you still think
About me and you
And not what was unsaid
I tell everyone I don't care
I tell everyone I'm fine
The truth is I'm still hurting
And every time I lie
It's been a long time since I felt you close
It's been a long time since we danced
I remember those times
And wish we still had a chance
But our love could never happen
It never really happened
You've been dead for six months
I never had a chance.
I never told you how I felt
I made up the story...
Here's hoping you still think
About me and you

The Tree of Lies
The tree grows daily
Growing at an unhealthy rate
Doubling in size
Growing larger than its mate
Fueled by lies and cut down by truth
“Honey, today I work late.”
“I’m 100% fine.”
“It’s all fate.”
“I’m over you.”
It’s much too late
For the tree to vanish

The Artist
She’s such an artist,
But nobody sees
She’s drowning and drowning
In a silent sea of pleas
Her tools vary
From size to color
Some burn and scar
While some like to smother
Hoping somebody notices
Hoping it’s not too late
Hoping somebody saves her
From her awful fate
She’s done with this life
She’s losing her mind
She’s losing her patience
Waiting for someone to find
That she’s such an artist
But nobody sees
Her beautiful artwork
On her wrists and knees
