Watching. Waiting. For something, anything. Yet nothing happens. The rest rush by, laughing and talking fast, rush by me, sitting on the banks of the river but never within it. I don’t understand or feel what they’re feeling. Am I actually a part of this seemingly-purposeless existence?


Sometimes the view is blocked. A wall separates me, and I fall. Deeper and deeper, and I can no longer see anyone else. Just myself.
