Excerpt from a Poem in a Dream
You will become just another consciousness
Amidst a universe of humans
Lost among the stars
And fed on by the lions
For an eternity
This is all I could remember of this poem when I awoke from the dream. In my dream, I was reading it to someone and yet everyone.

A new start & broken heart
I always know when you are pushing me away
Its the LITTLE things
like the words you say
I can't dote on you as a flower waits for spring
I will wilt
& slowly die
I can't watch you with someone else
I break down
& foolishly cry
An old wound here
A new flame there
I can't look on in cheer
I walk away from the pain
Say goodbye
& cry in vain

Treacherous Humans
Treacherous Humans
Lil scamps who pick the pocket of your time
Stealing the gleam in your eye
Pawning your dreams
Work hard be honest
Treacherous humans will have more to gain
As your life ticks away
They laugh, you pay
Paying for their tomorrow
Every moment a gift, a treasure to behold
Don't let them in
They are treacherous & human
Lil scamps who pick the pocket of your time

Protective Instinct
How can you say you love someone if your urge is not to protect but to hurt? She kept asking herself this question as she dutifully went about her life as his wife. Then came a day when she could not take the hurt any longer. Am I doing the right thing? Will he come after me? How will I take care of myself? All the unwelcome questions swirling in the vortex that became her mind. These thoughts that threatened to drown out her protective instincts. Her thoughts of love, loyalty and ultimately loneliness in this world threatening to overwhelm her basic instinct for survival. Who would protect...

Claws
My far sight spies the small prey
scurry hurry to hide
Gliding on currents
uplifted by forces unseen
The moment of strike
swift and painful
Claws outstretched
Snatched from your scampering
A bloody mess
You are invited to

Silence
And in the silence
you could almost hear,
the faint sound of a heart breaking.
It is hard to be sure
since the silence was so very large
and the sound of a heartbreaking,
is so very small.
A molecule of sound in a universe of silence…

Words Words Words
The world of man is made up of words.
LOVE is just a word.
A word used too much for the wrong reasons.
We say we LOVE the weather.
We say we LOVE our pets.
& My mind wanders to "Do you love your pet more than a sunny day
or a sunny day more than your pet?"
Get over this word.
It is after all ONLY a WORD.
Actions always SPEAK louder than words.
SHOW me you LOVE me.
Don’t just throw around the WORD.

They walk around with soulless eyes
& think everyone believes their lies
