POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Changes
Cold wind on face, the September air now takes summers place. Biting at bare skin. The sun hides
itself away more often than it used to and even when it reappears the warmth is somewhat
removed. Autumn; no more short sleeves, instead we pull on socks to cover up our feet.
Crunching underneath of frosts will soon be on its way. Leaves falling, scenes of red, purple, brown and
gold greets ones gaze. Only a few months ago it was the hottest day of the year. The change now so
swift and sudden, all long forgotten and unprepared: winter wardrobes need restocking, fires roar ...

Too Elusive to Catch
Nothing about you is clear, not a single thing makes sense to me anymore.
No contact, so I believe what I like. You speak the words that infect my brain –
somewhere inside I feel the difference, something you do drives right through
to my heart. Can’t escape the aura you possess.
These actions leave doubts plastered all over my mind, I’m not stupid enough
to entrust you with my deepest words; your mismatched moods to nothing to
reassure me either. Won’t face the facts that hover over your head: all the others
may think they know you, but I read the truth from...

Struggle On
I can feel you in my chest
Building, rising above my breast
You're always here, you always come
Bringing me down, your work is done
Deep inside, you fill my eyes
Saltiness breaches, I start to cry
Struggling, fighting, just to stay alive
Thoughts of the past, restless brain gives no respite
No one is coming
Such a presence leaves me so cold
No one is coming to the rescue
Such distance to cover to mend these holes
Building, rising above my breast
You're always here, you always come
Bringing me down, your work is done
Deep inside, you fill my eyes
Saltiness breaches, I start to cry
Struggling, fighting, just to stay alive
Thoughts of the past, restless brain gives no respite
No one is coming
Such a presence leaves me so cold
No one is coming to the rescue
Such distance to cover to mend these holes

Monster
If I were to see you again today, I think I'd truly break.
This must be how a wounded animal feels, moaning and whining inaudible sounds,
incomprehensible noises on the floor. Writhing around in pleasure and in pain: blurry
eyed, messy haired, plenty of sighing from inside this chest. Distaste written all over
my face. No one can stop heads from sinking or tears from drowning a heart in
sorrow - they always come anyway. Breathing starts to become difficult and it's a while
before this monster returns to it's cage, only once in a while can it be let out to roam ...

Yearning
Inside there’s a flutter here, a flutter there, incomplete indeed.
My road leaves imprints of your footsteps, a mark to track,
follow with intrigue, lose myself with ease. No need! Your scent lingers
on the air, I’m left to let it consume me with greed. Lungs filled full of
lust: fast hearts, wondrous thoughts, slight glances packed with
meaning. Empty holes pocket my chest without you near.
Once I was a believer in love; second time I see you gives me nothing
more to believe in. The moon shines on your back gleefully, as I watch
from my car...
