To Myself
Demon of you
Painted you blue,
Inflicted distrust
Till you cried like you do,
Painted your hands and your heart and your eyes
Made you see life like the darkest of skies
Demon of you
That turned your life blue,
Made you see life like the bad Angels do
Eating your mind till it turned your faith blind
Then chewing the last bits of Love it could find.

Photograph your spirit
Paint your soul laid bare
Write a song about your smile
And sunlight in your hair
Take a picture of your face
And hang it from the wall,
Compared to every masterpiece

Unconditionally
Place your heart in his hand
Its fragile beat
As sweet as you,
Shed a tear at his demand
Read his Bible through and through.
Eat his sick and don't be sick
Let him have the things you lack
Love him unconditionally
And never get that sweet heart back.

The Red
I need to hurt
To hurt myself
It's who I am
I cannot change,
I thrive on anger
Love dispair
It makes me whole and unafraid.
The voices come
And get inside
Am I crazy?
I am not sure.
But I am sane
When I feel pain,
When all the Red begins to pour.

Soulmates
If you're reading this,
I guess you feel like me.
Alone, misunderstood, dead to the world
Like no one else can see.
See that as you're standing there,
What you're really feeling inside
Is as if you're bleeding from every inch,
Is as if you just want to hide.
You see yourself as dead inside,
Your soul lives only to escape,
Trapped inside your own living hell
Tormented by feelings of hate.
So insignificant, so troubled
Something missing that others seem to have
What do they have? You yearn to know
What is this thing that...
I guess you feel like me.

Like the bubbles in the water,
When I find it hard to breathe
You're my tiny spark of oxygen
In a world that's drowning me.
Like the stars up in the sky,
When I can't find my way
You're my ever lasting light
Guide me through the darkest day.
And the way some songs can lift you up,
When I want that in my life
Then I'm staring at your photograph
And you're right here by my side.
When I find it hard to breathe

In a world that's drowning me.

Wounded
For the next few days it will hurt
And I'll be reminded of the pain
I'll be angry at myself for doing it,
For making myself such a mess again.
But in a couple of weeks the red will fade
Leaves a light scar, just a memory.
And I know that in time I will do it again
Because this behaviour is a part of me.
Because I crave the pain, the blade
I crave the blood I love to bleed
I'd love to bleed and flood this room,
Then drown in myself that I might be freed.
And I'll be reminded of the pain
I'll be angry at myself for doing it,
For making myself such a mess again.
But in a couple of weeks the red will fade

Every time I let you in
You turn your back on me
Rub my face in all your muck
For all my Angels to see.

This place I'm in
The dark I see
Consuming me
I only linger here like bait
To write more poems about hate
I only put up a fight
To see how hard my fears can bite
I only cut myself to find
How deep inside my demons hide.

Power
Breaking me
From the outside in
With heavy fists as black as coal,
Biting hard the words begin
And cold as ice they freeze my soul.
You know the power that you have
You keep me in a state of daze
You keep the key to all my strength
And hold me captive, locked away.
For we the same
Are worlds apart
In terms of time and place
And though you are not here right now
Still I see your darkened face
In every crack
In every shadow
You lay in wait for me to sleep,
The perfect time to steal my dreams
And enter in my spirit deep.

Sitting at my window
And falling all apart,
I'm praying that those birds
