POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
I've just recently taken up the pen, and I aim to share all of my dark, philosophical, sociological, and observational thoughts with you
A Short on Angels
Seventy degrees outside,
walkin’ down to the market.
Music was playing-
some Mexican kid was strumming.
An old Spanish song no one knew-
enchanting nonetheless.
I stumbled when she came,
around that corner,
like an angel had crashed.
The light stung my eyes.
The hell was wrong with me?
My legs stiffened up,
lungs left me gasping-
A fool I was.
She had freckles 'cross her cheeks,
hair light brown,
flowin' like waves.
That strut killed me.
Her blue met my brown,
What a damn fool I was....

July 28th
A shimmer,
the shade,
a lonely tree
dead,
or alive.
A step away from the clouds...
that time was a priceless moment.
The sun was hot,
but it felt alright.
I saw a flock of birds,
below us.
Below us.
The wind speaks to me and says
nothing.
Remember that time.
It was your new beginning.
If you're depressed right now,
stop being a fucking dumbass.
Do what will make it better.
Apologize.
Do better.
Be nicer.
Be mature.
There was a time you were at peace.
And they do love you.
It was too close last...
the shade,
a lonely tree
dead,
or alive.
A step away from the clouds...
that time was a priceless moment.

Failed Ignorance
This place I once found...
This place I tried to spare...
This place consumes me...
And yet I follow the words on this parchment,
stepping along in circles upon dust and dirt.
I pray I will be able to lose this map of mine...

A Breath
Soft sounds flow through the air,
With the city life sirens,
out distant in the grey.
Layered down and bundled,
people slip by with muffled steps,
as the morning fades away.
I breathe in.
The air tastes clean and chilled for a moment,
slightly salty from the bay,
and then,
it vanishes...
Thoughts of walking and seeing...
watching and admiring come to mind.
Only wishes to do,
and none to be.
The leaves are beginning to grow now,
the sun's warmth...
With the city life sirens,
out distant in the grey.
Layered down and bundled,
people slip by with muffled steps,
as the morning fades away.

Moonlit Struggle
These muddy boots sink deep with each step.
While the rain pours down into the earth,
across the crevices of my smile,
my tears are masked.
I am being pulled onward through the howling air by something unknown to me.
Through the pain, the fear, and through the darkness...
I know not where I am going, but I trust
this invisible guide.
Is this faith,
or is this love?
Maybe soon,
this night will bear me
more meaningful answers

At Peace
I sat there at the workbench,
Spinning around the thoughts in my head,
Sinking deeper within their dark entities…
Just like every other day.
Their presence was not enough.
They did not keep me from feeling alone,
Abandoned and rejected by everyone…
But I had lost the ability to care.
My glass eyes stared at my uncaring hands,
My heart torn to pieces and thrown about the ground,
My dreams fallen through my ever-weakened grasp…
Pain was the only emotion willing to accept me,
I sat there trying to mend my broken smile,

Rekindling
Rose amongst the rain,
Lit in a soft red glow,
You've shown me color
When I was blind.
Forever valiant,
The stars watch over you,
Giving you their blessing on this night of life.
I sink my toes into the soil,
Our roots intertwine,
And now,
We may grow as one
Lit in a soft red glow,
You've shown me color
When I was blind.
Forever valiant,
The stars watch over you,
Giving you their blessing on this night of life.
I sink my toes into the soil,
Our roots intertwine,
And now,
We may grow as one

Vous Dites Adieu
I am living these days in a quiet slumber,
In periodic stages of careful smiles,
and thoughts accompanied by great sorrow.
There is a twilight in my heart,
a rift between sorrow and sanctity..
If only I could have seen past my next breath,
through your eyes and into your heart,
I could have noticed the pieces of me..
Take me under your wing,
Or let me live in exile,
and my sanity grow distant.
Tear apart my darkness,
free me from my jailer,
Or let me hold you no longer.
I asked if I was the...

Kerosene
It is dark on the path before me..
The dirt and rocks unlit by the absent moon
I do not know of which way to go
I am a moody man
and bear thoughts more somber than most
But I am passionate,
relentless,
fierce in will.
I am a presence that longs to be remembered,
that longs to combust
I am kerosene
and you
are a spark, my love.
The dirt and rocks unlit by the absent moon
I do not know of which way to go
I am a moody man
and bear thoughts more somber than most
But I am passionate,

fierce in will.

that longs to combust
I am kerosene
and you
are a spark, my love.

The Human
Cocoon of fear
In Love's last breath..
Raise from water
And Fall from grace
Onto this heaven..
By rampant mind
And Soul and blood...
Renounce this gristened doubt.
On from hearth,
And Bleached black
in Lax passion...
Bridge thyself through cessation,
Release into this world,
So that this man may die..
So that this man may be free...
So that this man may be human.
In Love's last breath..
Raise from water
And Fall from grace
Onto this heaven..
By rampant mind
And Soul and blood...
Renounce this gristened doubt.
On from hearth,
And Bleached black
in Lax passion...
Bridge thyself through cessation,
Release into this world,
So that this man may die..
So that this man may be free...
So that this man may be human.

Leatherbound
Somewhere in those few verses we lost each other,
and somewhere on the page we lost our names.
Somewhere in those chapters we lost our ways,
and in the end we lost our lives.....
But what I wouldn't give to write just one more book with you.
and somewhere on the page we lost our names.
Somewhere in those chapters we lost our ways,
and in the end we lost our lives.....
But what I wouldn't give to write just one more book with you.

The struggle
What can one man do when faced with my mirror?
In the glass there is no past,
but doubtful such thoughts last
with a mind full of weighted horror.
I see the sun, and I see the Moon.
Prodding them with hopes and heart,
I retreat alone into the dark,
Stumbling into my feeble red coccoon.
Days will pass sitting there,
battling with the known and false comfort,
forever circumspect, dwelling in hurt.
If only that sun was a true wish and fair...
If only this mirror were made of lead,
and my eyes turned to the sky,
with a soul...
In the glass there is no past,
but doubtful such thoughts last
with a mind full of weighted horror.
I see the sun, and I see the Moon.
Prodding them with hopes and heart,
I retreat alone into the dark,
Stumbling into my feeble red coccoon.
Days will pass sitting there,
battling with the known and false comfort,
forever circumspect, dwelling in hurt.
If only that sun was a true wish and fair...
If only this mirror were made of lead,
and my eyes turned to the sky,
