The Burial
I've never lost a friend, until now
I don't know why, I don't know how
she was beautiful, she had a future
murdered by her father's brother
now painted reminders, a lasting picture
a smiling face--a difficult place
friendships and betrayal, a mission
with all options still unclear
I tried to cover my tracks without fear
by being there for those she knew
but my face is turning blue
I'm dying too, I'm dying just like you
we drove through the procession in silence
up the rolling mountain hills
to the burial ground, a baptist ceremony...

Midnight
Escape from home-- ditch past, skip class, and
travel to New York City on a whim
watch the future expand
without any warranty
when the future is so dim
life interrupted, a surreal state
the city streets unravel before me
while walking till feet blistered
minds bled sister in sinister abandon
a splinter of rage; dreams wet with rain
scattered, crumpled pages
Ink blots and connected dots
friend, you will be missed like tree roots
God, in a feather for the dream-catchers
we're getting away from Virginia and the body-snatchers

Pondering Madness

I have recently started to use my Tarot cards again; this time I'm using the "Tarot of the Spirit" deck. I've learned a lot through interpreting the card patterns that fall into order. The way you use tarot is pretty straightforward. You shuffle the deck, then either fan out the cards and pick them individually or take the cards in order off the top of the deck. Many people will claim to get the same specific cards over and over again.
The ancient Chinese method of divination is called I Ching. They hypothesized that cards fall into order because...

The Mexican
Let's get lost in Mexico
high on cocaine
and sipping tequila
I'll pull you into my kisses
and you'll be on your knees, wishing
with those deep brown eyes
that caught on reflections
of my sugar-cane dreams
as the master draws us together
I'll be nestled in your black curls
swimming in the ocean
with the tropical fish
I want to fall into your arms
I'll seal my heart to you
with a ruby red kiss.

Schizophrenia
It was a normal day with a crisp blue sky. Well, normal for everyone
else. Not for me. I got out of the car and shut it behind me. I didn’t know
what to say, so I just followed them. I didn't think there was a legitimate
reason to be there. Thoughts were not really racing through my head, but as my
parents led me down the sidewalk I began to feel a gnawing worry. I thought
maybe they would arrest me for my freak out. Yet, it had to be a joke; I knew
they could not arrest me for this. I had committed no crime.
I also knew that
this would not be what you...

Not Lost
Throwing all the rain
down the tired drain
flowers and trains
forgotten kisses and stains
trying all the keys
giving me some peace
Throwing all the rain
down on this pain
lullabies and sunny days
crumbling like happy places
when was I happy before?
just some kind of misery
I don't know where anymore
not lost, no cost, unsure
Throwing all the rain
down on me
Just a storm
down the tired drain
flowers and trains
forgotten kisses and stains
trying all the keys
giving me some peace
Throwing all the rain
down on this pain
lullabies and sunny days
crumbling like happy places
when was I happy before?

Soul Proof Box
Her nails were sharp as scissors
her hair was in knots
there were many of them
sharing each a disease
sleeping together in sheets
shined up in sun-faced glory
Riddled all the way through
and she tore at their faces
loving the way they bled
hair twisted into knots
the room was a bowl for moons
pale transcendent loons
Could it make her whole?
her nails are scratching out his name
where they were engraved
they never forgot his honor saved...

Electricity
Oh energetic trinity
Give me your electricity
I am numb
Kingdom come
There is nothing left to see
Just echoes
Wandering around
Fluttering up
Spiraling down
Oh my God
When will you come around?
I've given in to Christian ideology
They say I've been forgiven
That I know not my own skin
That he can send me a one-way ticket
To this sacred redemption
But do not mention
Mystery!
Oh Electricity, what has come
Over-me?
I dwell in the bloodless zone
Between heaven and hell
Witness flown
Over-me
They say I...

Beware Their Engineer
Hello to me the one I know today
Yesterday has left and I am young tomorrow
If I were alive I'd never have let you down
The signs of the sun might have drawn
Many grow hungry, but we know this
So who will throw a curtain over the dead
Fall down on your knees Miss Miserably
The moon is fleeing, people are seeing
Watery tears of her majesty's engineering
Yesterday has left and I am young tomorrow
If I were alive I'd never have let you down
The signs of the sun might have drawn
Many grow hungry, but we know this
So who will throw a curtain over the dead
Fall down on your knees Miss Miserably
The moon is fleeing, people are seeing
Watery tears of her majesty's engineering

Feast for Strange Creatures
What primal darkness, has cast
its shadow on the face of the moon
her smile cursed into grim fortunes
a war on the blood of men
Whose crime? resplendent joys
turned wicked, curled up in ivy's swoon
blue sirens fall into rapture
a snarling tiger howls like a loon
Chimera Chimera you foolish beast
I follow these stones to the halls of Bast
Where Loki & The serpent trade time
What primal dreams would trade
Forbidden fruit for the fat of swine
its shadow on the face of the moon
her smile cursed into grim fortunes
a war on the blood of men
Whose crime? resplendent joys
turned wicked, curled up in ivy's swoon
blue sirens fall into rapture
a snarling tiger howls like a loon
Chimera Chimera you foolish beast
