The lie that Passive Means Weakness
Me: Minding my business as I drink with my friend and his friends in order to be supportive and get to know them.
Them: “Trump will save America”
Me: “Ok.” I take a sip and avoid the the tangents going on around me, but roll my eyes involuntarily as their never ending rants go on and on. It's not enough that I am silently enduring this abuse. I'm choosing not to speak on it. And yet …
Them: “Oh, looks like we got a feminist! I can guess, but, who are you voting for?” He knows, but needs the verbal confirmation to drive his point home.
Me: Kamala....

I had to do it
Wouldn't leave my mind
My coworkers forced
To stay for a cent on the dime

I called you out
Though silent they were
Just so they could hear it
In your own words
From your own mouth
You fuckin worms
I couldn't sit on it
It was driving me insane
So I called up the labor wage
Then gave them your name
Yeah
I'll always be the one who sticks out her neck
But I never gamble
Without keeping my finances in check
Though I know I'll probably have to quit ...

What Lonely, Hopeless Alphas Don't Understand
Imagine this: you're living alone, you begin to think of companionship and simply not being alone. Your goal is to be honest about who you are and to be accepted for the shortcomings you are working towards fixing. So, alone you stay, making a space you can love so you may have one to learn how to love yourself, and you learn. Little by little, you learn how to make yourself feel secure and safe. You do so by being financially responsible enough to live a life that gives you freedom to do what you want. Your bills aren't just manageable, they're almost nonexistent with no credit card balances...

After doing so for many

The truth is
He wasn't mine
He was yours
Sister
Yet I
Was there to protest
And as all of those
Who cried
Professed their love
Most did not provide
Their time
They were not there
To challenge the police
They would not dare
To hold a sign demanding peace
Your supposed grief
I was there
And you
Cried
So frantically
Fell to your knees
At the sight
Of his carcass

Your Own Worst Enemy
All you ever did was lie
You lied when you said you would change
And so did I
I don't deny my role in this
I did enough to mess us up
But I always stayed consistent
Didn't I
When i blew up our lives
And offered you everything
Asking for nothing
You ask for money
For the same freedom
And you flew to missouri
Got on your knees
Lying to me some more
Lying to yourself
Evermore
For four years
You lied to me
Lied to you
And what's worse
You offered forgiveness
A family ...
You lied when you said you would change
And so did I

The lost one roaming the streets
Lying on the road in the middle of the night
Waiting to die
The four taken from their mother
With poor prognosis
The others born
When more wished for peril
The stray taken in
Too broken to be fixed
And then there are the few I looked for
All placed with purpose
Placed into our lives
All expected to die
But they survived
And I felt so whole
For a moment
As they thrived
