POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
untitled
My mother and I
sit maping out
the way south-
to skip DC
southard bound.
and buys us a night
along the way.
Its strange
how we've
come along,
how more fragile
these lines
we walk become.
Safe and sound-
is how they want
us. tucked up in
doves wings.
sit maping out
the way south-
to skip DC
southard bound.
and buys us a night
along the way.
Its strange
how we've
come along,
how more fragile
these lines
we walk become.
Safe and sound-
is how they want
us. tucked up in
doves wings.

Silence
sleeps in empty houses
beneath bed sheets
and lingers in
coffee gone cold.
Silence screams-
it's the noise
after all the other
noises cease-
to make sound.
It's a broken clock-
it's the seconds
before the alarm goes off.
Silence
is a scream under water.
It's words never spoken-
uncomfortable pauses...
in conversation.
It's in the wishing
of a phone to ring.
Silence
is at times
louder than any sound
wished itself to be.
sleeps in empty houses
beneath bed sheets
and lingers in
coffee gone cold.
Silence screams-
it's the noise
after all the other
noises cease-
to make sound.
It's a broken clock-
it's the seconds
before the alarm goes off.
Silence
is a scream under water.
It's words never spoken-
uncomfortable pauses...
in conversation.
It's in the wishing
of a phone to ring.
Silence
is at times
louder than any sound
wished itself to be.

Forget Me Not
That night in the car
when you were drunk
and half asleep-
I whispered love poems
in your ear because
I was too afraid just to say
I Love You.
I gave you love poems
without the use of the word-
and spent the night with you
and actually slept.
How intimate sleeping can be.
How you held me-
like you meant it-
before letting me go.
when you were drunk
and half asleep-
I whispered love poems
in your ear because
I was too afraid just to say
I Love You.
I gave you love poems
without the use of the word-
and spent the night with you
and actually slept.
How intimate sleeping can be.
How you held me-
like you meant it-
before letting me go.

Soup
Stir up the pot a bit-
See beyond the celery
that floats on top-
and get to the meat of me.
See beyond the celery
that floats on top-
and get to the meat of me.

In the quiet of the moonlight
when all the world seems sleeping
i lie in bed
alive- awake
and think of you.
when all the world seems sleeping
i lie in bed
alive- awake
and think of you.

He turned and was above me-
like the sun
and stars
and all else above me.
and he did it silently
and made me studder-
and took my breath-
took my breath under blankets-
and darkness-
and kissed me
with such strength
and sureness-
i would have lost
balance if standing.
like the sun
and stars
and all else above me.
and he did it silently
and made me studder-
and took my breath-
took my breath under blankets-
and darkness-
and kissed me
with such strength
and sureness-
i would have lost
balance if standing.

Mayfly
While she talks to me
about something i can't recall-
even moments after she's said it-
whoever she is.
I look up into the corner where
the wall meets ceiling-
where a Mayfly
sat silently observing us-
it always does sadden me to see one.
It's long skeletal legs
and tiny translucent wings
long limbed
and short lived.
Tomorrow to be swept up with
dust and dog hair and
the crumbs of yesterdays toast-
and to be
forgotten.
We are all but Mayflies-
Find your window.
about something i can't recall-
even moments after she's said it-
whoever she is.
I look up into the corner where
the wall meets ceiling-
where a Mayfly
sat silently observing us-
it always does sadden me to see one.
It's long skeletal legs
and tiny translucent wings
long limbed
and short lived.
Tomorrow to be swept up with
dust and dog hair and
the crumbs of yesterdays toast-
and to be
forgotten.
We are all but Mayflies-
Find your window.
