homo unius libri
I found it on a dark ramble
down long halls of doors
listened thru but never opened
my one bare foot drug on marbled floors
a door opened, yet not by me
inside I twirled in curtain filtered sunlight
the only furniture in the middle of the room
and on it sat a most marvelous sight
it’s texture on fingertips felt devine
it’s square shape beautifully pleasing
a thick shell over thinner pieces puzzling
yet begging to be pulled was so teasing
fingers curled under I lifted the top
it swung open revealing hidden treasure
black on...

simple solutions
it cut me to the bone
hearing second hand
how you under handedly
conquered the slit of my friend
my heart bled from the deep thrusts
the ache poured out
the salt of my tears
stinging confirmed doubt
which brings us to your present predicament
chained spread eagle while my seriousness you scoff
it’s not lust or for your erotic amusement
I’ve just simply decided to cut-you-off

august heat
in the heat of evening near dusk
I sat outside watching my little pup
patrolling the corners of the yard
before darkness swallowed it up
something caught her senses
a tentative paw at a grassy spot
finally flipping on her side
and rolling in who knows what
caused me to wonder
what’s so irresistible that when it hits
you have the uncontrollable urge
to be covered head to toe with it
then a sweet voice thru the screen door said
I’m gonna lay naked in the cool sheets for a few
and suddenly my irresistible...

casting stones at beatles
we were waiting for the yellow submarine
it was coming to take us away
I was next in line listening to mister Jimmy
needing a prescription but never got what he wanted
then some fool on the hill in the dead of night
invited us all in thru his bathroom window
everyone seemed pleased to meet him
but hells bells, how many times should we guess his name?

headed over to the competitions
gonna vote do my DU duty
first one I opened

grandpa was a hard working man
on the weekends he drank without fear
grandma liked his paycheck
grandpa liked his beer
late Saturday nights the phone would ring
my mom and her brother wrestled to get to it first
they knew who it was
and grandpa always sang as his last beer was nursed
mama I’m on my way
remove them skivvies if you please
leave the front door open
and be down on your knees
mom and her brother giggled with childish delight
passing the phone around
just to hear his slurred crooning
while...
