POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
She is my Universe
I’d give the planets for the way she rubs her eyes in the morning and looks at me,
and the Sun for the smile that comes next.
If you asked me to carry the weight of the Earth to see her laugh again, I’d take it
and the Moon too.
Her kisses are comets, dropping by my space in the cosmos
once in a while to light up my world, and gone again in a flash.
She is my world. She means more than the universe to me.
and the Sun for the smile that comes next.
If you asked me to carry the weight of the Earth to see her laugh again, I’d take it
and the Moon too.
Her kisses are comets, dropping by my space in the cosmos
once in a while to light up my world, and gone again in a flash.
She is my world. She means more than the universe to me.

Weightless
He is weightless now. You could say he is free
But he would not.
He carries nothing. He travels alone.
He has no suitcase. Once long ago he did, and
it was sturdy and polished and shined bright
so he threw it out.
Now he keeps whatever his hands can hold
and goes.
You might see him come sometime. You will, but
you won’t see him stay.
When he
collects too much for his hands to hold,
he leaves
and he is so weightless
that you will not hear him go.
