This Life Can't Belong To Me
How did I get here? Is this really my life?
Surely this is the life of someone who was raised in one of "those" families
I'm the sweet Catholic girl from the upper middle class neighborhood
So this life can't belong to me, can it?
When I walked down that aisle, I'd never been so happy
He was the one, he was it...my knight in shining armor
I would never become a statistic, I'd never know divorce
So this life can't belong to me, can it?
My every wish had come true, I really had it all
The beautiful house, the dog and the cat, the 2.5...

Let me love you, my Master

The Voice of The Darkness
The voice of the darkness calls
It is the voice that was spawned from the witching hour in the black of night
and lives deep within my Master's heart
With each passing day the voice grows stronger
Beckoning, teasing, pleading, shouting
Until at last it becomes too loud to ignore
When that time comes, my Master will call me to his side
I will close my eyes and step in to the dark unknown with him
And he will paint my flesh red with lust and sin and hurt

MISCELLANEOUS POEM

Shared Custody
He stands and talks with me in the kitchen
Conversation is light
and we talk of bread dough and pizza
and chicken
His smile is easy, his spirit carefree
and he looks good in his blue shirt
I see before me the past: a friend and partner
and lover
As we laugh, I search his face for a sign
a clue I missed all those years ago
some indication of what lurks deep within
and poisons
The kids rush in to say their good-bye's
and I put on my best smile
The truck pulls away and I stand on the front porch of my empty...

Tick-Tock
In our sacred space, I wait for his arrival
Cool black satin blankets my eyes and surrounds me in darkness
My only company is that of nervous butterflies
And the sound of time ticking away on the clock
Tick-tock, tick-tock
A million silly insecurities suddenly make themselves known
What if this, and what if that
And oh my God what if, What If, WHAT IF???
My heart begins a race against Father Time
Tick-tock, tick-tock
Seconds turn to minutes
And from those minutes a mantra is born: ...

Open the door, my love
and step in to our sanctuary
For this is our special shared place
where no one else exists
