The fog held so thickly

sitting upon a fence
gazing out from sorrowed eyes
feeling downcast, somewhat bent
no answer to the why’s
i see your face
your smile a grace
left to help me feel
to prop me up
renew my hope
to stop me falling
beneath some wheel
words and sounds
that I repeat are
empty of the pain
that is 'missing you'
but yet I voice them
to the air
on some prayer
they might find you
from on this fence
i regard the sun
dropping slowing in the sky ...
