Estranged
I haven’t felt as inclined to write as,
I once have. Time slipped betwixt
my fingers, or rather my fingers
repelled the keys beneath them-
either way
I feel estranged from the page.
I cannot decide whether me writing
now, is a sign of weakness, like I
got better, but now that I sleep
less, my mind has wandered to
places that have
gathered more dust than I had thought.
That the ink I am spilling, is a symbol
of slipping, that my mind may be
detaching from what was good for a
split second, I swear it was ...

My childhood was filled with a bright little girl,
She was sweet and had silly little curls.
She’d spend the evenings reading in bed,
with a book in her hand,
and the world in her head.
She’d build figures out of lego,
but she never wanted to let go,
of the One Direction fish she kept in her room,
next to a Harry Styles doll with only one shoe.
I used to skate in the car park right next to my house,
hold on to my Dad, so I wouldn’t fall down.
I’d ride around on my bike, and bruise up my knees.
We’d bake cakes and...

I like to document my days
like files that someone might care about
some time in the distant future.
They’re personal, and true,
and the most honest version of
myself, one I think I look up to.
I do think I am honest, brutal
at that. It may hurt a person,
but a pen doesn’t hurt a page,
but rather it scars it.
My scars line the pages, filling
them with every emotion you
could begin to imagine.
Excitement, joy and laughter,
is contrasted with themes of,
depression, overthinking and panic. ...

UPBEAT INSPIRATIONAL POEM

A New Chapter
With every waking step, I feel a shiver
through my bones. A new chapter is
beginning - don’t ask me how I know,
I just do.
I believe I owe this feeling to him.
The one that sparked a new hope within
me, giving me something to look forward
to.
It’s early days, I know that, and he
is unaware of the stance
he has placed on my scratched
heart.
But hope continues, despite the
unknowing, it lingers, and festers.
I can feel it growing, something
beautiful, and new.
Thank you for that.

She’s a real mean drunk
and her friends are in the club,
they’re drinking all the liquor
thinking they won’t throw up.
They are downing more shots,
doing pot,
while I’m still stuck here thinking about the
hazey daze,
of August shade.
I’m the real mean drunk,
Yes, I am crying in the club.
The bottles nearly empty, and I
need to throw up.
I’m feeling useless,
I’m through with all of the pain from the
hazey daze,
of August shade.

like the backlash of a waterfall running into a rapid.
It holds me back and causes me to waste my dreams.
I stay awake, only going to bed at half past three,
I don’t understand why this is happening to me.
I realise that I move too fast, and I’m heading for crash.
I’m not sure how long I will last.
I’ve had a friend who was close to me, pull me away
from the ecstasy of loving someone else more
than I love me.
But it still hurts that you are gone.

There were cuts on my wrist,
I can still see the scars.
Like white powder lines,
separated like stars.
They’ve been written and scribbled,
chewed on and nibbled,
by the 2-year-old in my heart.

Where is God when the famine takes our lives,
When all we have left is the bleak, black skies,
From polluting ourselves to just inexist,
And all of our problems end up dismissed.
Where is God when the wars break out,
Thousands of men killed for doubt.
Killed on the battlefield to end some dispute,
And the government tell them to shoot, shoot, shoot.
Where is God when the massacres start,
Hundreds of families being ripped apart,
Lose a mother, a father, a daughter or a son,
To a knife, a grenade or maybe a gun.

We’re living on 2 pennies, while collecting
as many memories as we can retain.
We are just the same.
While I’m struggling to make ends meet,
you slag me off to your friends, yet
we are just the same.
Why are you acting so lame?
Is it because you are afraid I could put you
to shame, I only need 60 seconds,
its 1 name.
You can run your mouth, saying I always
put you down to your friends and family.
Yes, we are just the same.
But we aren’t playing the same game.
I make my own rules,
