From A Nightmare
Happiness is a dream
Of which I have not slept
There are only flashes of terror
When I lay down my head
My pulse begins to quicken
My heart slams in my chest
The nightmares tear me open
And rip me from my rest
First there comes the cold sweats
Followed by the screaming
I then choke on hysteria
With it’s invisible meaning
I claw from the back of my mind
Into the darkness of my room
But no one is there to numb the pain
That comes out with the moon
So even after my eyes open
The nightmares do not leave
The demons...
Of which I have not slept
There are only flashes of terror
When I lay down my head
My pulse begins to quicken
My heart slams in my chest
The nightmares tear me open
And rip me from my rest
First there comes the cold sweats
Followed by the screaming
I then choke on hysteria
With it’s invisible meaning
I claw from the back of my mind
Into the darkness of my room
But no one is there to numb the pain
That comes out with the moon

Anxiety
Everyone is staring..
You're trying so hard to stay standing,
But your heart is racing..
Instead of walking straight,
You start wobbling.
Your eyes begin to strain,
You start feeling as if you just gained a lot of weight.
Your heart sinks as you run away.
You have to hide.
You musn't let them see,
The you that is scared to be seen.
You feel like you can't even breathe.
Your lungs are tightening,
As you sink down against a wall,
and take into the fetal postion.
Just cry, maybe someday it'll be alright..
You're trying so hard to stay standing,
But your heart is racing..
Instead of walking straight,
You start wobbling.
Your eyes begin to strain,
You start feeling as if you just gained a lot of weight.
Your heart sinks as you run away.

She was ready to go..
Lifeless as she lay
Her skin so pale
The gleam in her eyes
Had begun to fade
She lay still
Unable to move
The pain was torturous
tearing her apart
Like a thousand needles
Pricking her heart
She was left alone yet again
Blaming herself for all the pain
The agony was deeper
The affliction more severe
Everything that held her strong
Was now falling apart
Breathing her last
With the last blow
Closed her eyes
She was ready to go....
It's not how long you have been together that matters; what matters is how...

Broken 'love'
Love is overrated
It's never how it seems
You convince yourself
You're happy
But it's just another dream
You don't know how to tell them
You don't feel the same way
When they ask if you're alright
You lie, every things OK
What are you supposed to do
When the magic disappears
When the only thing they give you
Are insecurities and fears
They have simply no idea
On the way they makes you feel
You can't believe you ever thought
This love was really real
You wish with all your heart
Things were like they were...
It's never how it seems
You convince yourself
You're happy
But it's just another dream
You don't know how to tell them
You don't feel the same way
When they ask if you're alright

I am thankful to have met you
But being thankful is not enough,
You've taught me more than patience
You've taught me the undreamed of.
You've shown me what family really means
That it's not about just blood,
There is more to family than a pedigree,
There has to be some love.
You taught me to express myself,
That it's okay to shine,
To share how I am feeling
Means I won't burst in time.
You always seem to get it out of me
Even if you have to pry,
Because I trust in you
My fear seems to sublime.
I'll love...

Dreams
They say that memories stay with us
that they never really leave
but what happens when these memories
terrorise our dreams?
Do we let them go
to take over our minds?
Or do we let them go further
until our sanity is hard to find?
Dreams can be good
when we dream of blue skies
but dreams can be bad
when we dream of past ties.
They say that memories stay with us
that they never really leave
but what happens when these memories
terrorise our dreams?
that they never really leave
but what happens when these memories

learn to fit in.
Learn to Fit in
Put on your costume,
And throw on your mask.
You've got to fit in.
It's your life's only task.
Don't ever be yourself.
That's ever to lame.
You're far too unique.
Let's all be the same.
Cut slits in your arms,
And starve yourself thin.
No matter the cost,
You have to fit in.
No one cares about you.
Who cares about joy?
Just make sure you're pretty,
To get the right boy.
Listen to their taunts,
And correct your mistakes.
Pretend you are smiling,
Ignore the "small"...
Put on your costume,
And throw on your mask.
You've got to fit in.
It's your life's only task.

Monsters in my head
I was 11 when change happened.
Chubby yet barely developed.
Something laid dormant in my skin.
Waiting.
The waiting ended and the wickedness rose.
The dimples on my cheeks,
Stopped caving.
The light in my eyes went dark.
The monsters under my bed started to appear in my head.
I was starving.
Starving for an outlet and sustenance to keep me alive.
Purging on control and the need for something more.
I first tried scissors,
Trying to see how thick the skin on my thin wrists were.
I needed more.

Still awake
Still Awake
Tired yet awake
Forced to medicate
Dreams of terror I can't escape
My only chance is to sedate
If my eyes close on their own accord
A monster's breath I've felt before
The same creature every night
I feel it's face so close to mine
What is this apparition and what does he want
To keep me awake with his evil taunts
His sadistic whispers burn my ears
From deep he summons my darkest fears
I clench my eyes and wait for dawn
When daybreak comes he will be gone
I don't know why he's chosen me
It's been years since I've...

Darkness
When no one else was there to save me,
it was.
It always wraps me in its warmth,
Listens to my every sob,
Pats me in sympathy and comfort.
It's been my lifelong friend.
Most kids are afraid of the dark,
But really there's no need.
Darkness has always been my friend
it was.
It always wraps me in its warmth,
Listens to my every sob,
Pats me in sympathy and comfort.
It's been my lifelong friend.

What I see
You see stories,
Tales of time long since past.
I see only scars,
Reminders that your strength did not last.
You see romance,
A beautiful disease.
I see illness
And angst-ridden pleas.
You see in me a bitch,
Who on malice has thrived .
I see someone..
Who survived.
Tales of time long since past.
I see only scars,
Reminders that your strength did not last.
You see romance,
A beautiful disease.
I see illness
And angst-ridden pleas.
You see in me a bitch,
Who on malice has thrived .

Empty eyes
I saw his darkness, I saw that smile
I knew his sanity, could only last awhile.
A crumbling memory of a powerless boy.
Surrounded by nothing but silent, heartless toys
"They aren't enough!" he cried. Pointing at their empty eyes.
This creature of darkness, the one I was supposed to despise.
He wanted a friend.
My arms wrapped his waist, my smile brightened.
How would this story end?
I knew his sanity, could only last awhile.
A crumbling memory of a powerless boy.
Surrounded by nothing but silent, heartless toys
"They aren't enough!" he cried. Pointing at their empty eyes.
This creature of darkness, the one I was supposed to despise.

My arms wrapped his waist, my smile brightened.
