By torchlight
Glinting pale sands
Of path toward beach
Mangrove trees
shelter a throng
Of bright fireflies
On this night
They enchant us
With their tiny lights
In patterns
Choreographed
To form an idyll

To my ideal lover
I enter your presence
demurely
As my truest self
There is no need
for pretence
for jokes
for contention
for bravado
for guilt
for shame
In the deep emotional bond
that we share
I hear you perfectly
and am ever-attentive
to your desires
I observe the
subtle nuances
of your gestures
I bask in the
unadulterated
bliss of your
firm, sure-fire touch
You have proven yourself deserving
of my love
of my trust
of my commitment
...

As my truest self
There is no need

Bedtime Stories. (with Matthew Z.)
She sees the world through tear-stained eyes
Big brown almonds, perfect in size
But if she laughs, her eyes turn blue
Despite their dark, unaltered hue
She lives her life within a dream
Queen of broken hearts it'd seem
Yet broken hearts weren't hers to give
Nor were they where her demons live
Tracing her lines upon the sands
Of time and space and distant lands
She runs her fingers through her hair
And stares beyond the mirror there
Now assuming a bitter face
As evil wields the pen to trace
Lines no longer...

Live your Dreams
A good job is worth doing well
So overcome your constraints
Push on through and you will excel
Don’t be dragged down by complaints
When you find your best chance, don’t slip
Surf the waves and shoot for the moon
Live like your life depends on it
You’ll reach toward the stars real soon
If the pressure’s ever too much
And you can’t take it anymore
Slide it up one more notch to touch
The wellspring of your wildest roar
When you are good and ready
Hit the high note with pulsing bliss
As I’ve done many times...

My grain of truth for
you this special day
Is you’ve impacted
me in surprising ways
To me it’s your flawless
etiquette and help
Your appeal to goods
well above yourself
If I prick or provoke
your wrath, I know
Consequences will
then surely follow

My owner is quite dangerous though
Miserable is his tale of woe
I watched him frown. I cried hello
Insisted on giving me a shake
Nightmare scene, though wide awake
Grimaced hard ‘til the tears make
Heavy chest of complete heart break
Possession is complete, taken and deep
One promise left to keep
Until then he shall not sleep
Because he’s all mine to keep
He rises from insomnia’s bed
With empty thoughts in his head
He idolises being dead
Facing the day with all due...
