in the darkness crawl lies

murky minds meditate on material myths
manifesting multiple misconceptions
murdering and massacring more meaningful matters
mislabeling the martyrs as malevolent
mistaking the miscreants as moral motives
maliciously misleading man masking his maker
making mammon mans master
money mans measure
and mindless mammals mans mirror

sometimes ends become beginnings,
catastrophes metamorphose into blessings,
and opportunity blossoms from the stems of tragedy,
roses sprout from concrete cracks,
and blades of baby grass slice through blankets of snow.

Sometimes faith and intelligence scoff at circumstance
and flourish even in the most inhospitable environments.
