How do you breathe when your lungs are full of metal
And speak words of mechanical invention
How do you suppress what's intrinsically human
While your heart is so open to question?
And speak words of mechanical invention
How do you suppress what's intrinsically human
While your heart is so open to question?

The Animarion
It was an inane thought, but I always believed my life would end when the hands of the great clock seized up and stopped moving. The ticking monstrosity was never something that I particularly admired, or even liked, but its overbearing presence across the side of the building I worked in certainly left its mark on the walls of my subconscious. Like the heartbeat of the factory itself, the persistent thrum of gears locking and turning would pound into your head until it was little more than a scrap of the background. And, as unnatural as it was, it became comforting. I thought perhaps, if the...

A fractured introduction
Little more than the monotonous sound of a dripping tap greeted Danza when she dragged herself into the decrepit little hospital bathroom. She knocked around a few loose floor tiles, kicking the motion sensitive lights back to life for a mere few moments before the bulb gave up, finally being drawn towards one of the less derelict looking sinks. The emergency lights came on, splashing her face with a daunting orange hue which reflected off the grubby, scuffed-up mirrored tiles. Even Danza herself fell prey to the drowsy hum that filled the room from the old lamps. She slumped into the sink...

Moments Before Sunrise
Almond eyes flicker with the fire of a hundred stars,
Piercing through the depths of night.
The moon he wears like a halo,
A crown for the poor and the forgotten.
The stars twinkle their silent applause as he rises -
Trees ripple with every movement, every heartbeat -
And then, just like that,
He is gone,
No trace,
The stars vow their silence,
And all melts back into day.
The first glimpse of sunlight floods the land.
Piercing through the depths of night.
The moon he wears like a halo,
A crown for the poor and the forgotten.
The stars twinkle their silent applause as he rises -
Trees ripple with every movement, every heartbeat -
And then, just like that,
He is gone,
No trace,
The stars vow their silence,
And all melts back into day.
The first glimpse of sunlight floods the land.

My Earth
I look at the pile of rubble and call it home.
I gaze upon the stars and call them heaven.
I admire the first tree and call it nature.
I marvel at the landscape and call it beauty.
I hold your hand and call it love.
I gaze upon the stars and call them heaven.
I admire the first tree and call it nature.
I marvel at the landscape and call it beauty.
I hold your hand and call it love.

Bad memories
Chased down,
I'm frozen in the headlights of my past,
Eyes wide,
Life slipping through my fingers like soft, golden sand,
Justwaiting to be saved from myself.
I'm frozen in the headlights of my past,
Eyes wide,
Life slipping through my fingers like soft, golden sand,
Justwaiting to be saved from myself.

Mental Limitations chapters 1,2 &3
It could have been a Friday. Or, no, wait it could have been a Sunday. Or maybe not. It could have even been a Frunday. But that doesn't matter, for it was the day when I opened my eyes, awaiting the new, fresh, morning only to find I wasn't awake at all, just sort of floating round the consiousness of my own mind. Which, really, is not a place you're supposed to be. It took a while, but my mind eventually came to rest at the crossroads for a decision I had to make for this morning. On one hand, I could wake up and carry on with my dull, grey, routine I call an 'average day'. On the other, I...

Questions for a hero
What does it take to be a hero?
To tear back the flesh of the moment,
Reveal it's true nature,
Strike terror at its heart, and
Bleed hope back into the land.
Nurture imaginations and captivate dreams.
Yet all the time, they know
That evil will surface again,
The violent upsurge of lava
Breeching our every defence.
Why try to fight back when all hope is lost?
To tear back the flesh of the moment,
Reveal it's true nature,
Strike terror at its heart, and
Bleed hope back into the land.
Nurture imaginations and captivate dreams.
Yet all the time, they know
That evil will surface again,
The violent upsurge of lava
Breeching our every defence.
Why try to fight back when all hope is lost?

A Thousand Words
A thousand words,
A thousand kisses
Could not pull together the pieces of me
That you wasted no time to prise apart
As I lay, trapped in a fathomless trance,
Your soft murmurings filled my head,
Alive and dead, stuck inbetween
Not even God's caring hands could undo what you did.
To rip the esscence of life from a frail, mortal body
Would be to dream a demon's dream.
If you were to see the twisted soul you left behind
Would any human emotions show?
A thousand kisses
Could not pull together the pieces of me
That you wasted no time to prise apart
As I lay, trapped in a fathomless trance,
Your soft murmurings filled my head,
Alive and dead, stuck inbetween
Not even God's caring hands could undo what you did.
To rip the esscence of life from a frail, mortal body
Would be to dream a demon's dream.
If you were to see the twisted soul you left behind
Would any human emotions show?

Escaping
Lets go skysurfing, you and me,
Falling, gaining incredible speed,
Grow wings and fly,
Magnified heights through looking-glass eyes,
Cause when it hurts to breathe
The things you see aren't real,
They just seem,
Lazer beams sending messages
Cause light bends around,
The sound, stuck in your head,
You hit the ground
But, are we dead yet?
No, just back in the realm of normality,
A reality filled with
Coffee cups and tough luck,
Cause this life sucks
Do you want to escape with me?
Flying free, us and the LSD,
So, lets go...
