The rhythm in my mind which creates a reaction
My hands and feet get to actin'
swingin' every which way, goin'
boom-ti-tat, boom-ti-boom tat...
As I commence, my muscles get tense
and then I start beating everything
in sight like it's out of defense
It's murder with my soul
but no drum's neglected
not often accepted, but no ears are respected
Who said the beat should be meek and mild
when voices of reason seek my style
The beat grows insistent
and now the mood has risen
And yet-somehow I've got them...
