The Creature
You're gonna go far, kid
He said with a grin
Though I care no more for him than I did for them
He stood from his chair and tossed a cigar
Yes kid, you're gonna go far
A reflection of the night, so recently passed
Reveals a macabre scene
A scarlet mirror face splayed over the floor
Never had truer colours been seen
By the dark silhouette, skewed through the smoke
From the cigarette clenched between evil, smiling teeth
The intent of a creature, a man if you will
The artistic genius behind this piece
Content with his work, the creature...

Former Melancholy
I've been in the dark too long
Smoked too many cigarettes
Played many a sad song
Looked out on a pale, dead sky with the prospect in mind of a melancholy smile
And thought to myself that that's just how it is
Just how it was, cause I'm done with the dumps
So I'm saying goodbye to that curse of an escape and laying down those dirty cancer sticks
I'll strum my guitar and look out on the sun
Just jamming my tune
Just playing my song
I've been in the dark for far too long
Smoked too many cigarettes
Played many a sad song
Looked out on a pale, dead sky with the prospect in mind of a melancholy smile
And thought to myself that that's just how it is
Just how it was, cause I'm done with the dumps
So I'm saying goodbye to that curse of an escape and laying down those dirty cancer sticks
I'll strum my guitar and look out on the sun
Just jamming my tune
Just playing my song
I've been in the dark for far too long

Wings of Black
I used to be an angel, herald to ignorant light
The sorrows of the world, immaterial by that so bright
Guised by such vibrant apathy, the world slowly crept
As punishment for apathy, the consequence was death
As death, a fitting punishment for one who didn't care
The clipped my wings and dropped me, my back completely bare
But as I fell, I wondered if such a thing was wrong
For the ability not to care is one for which many long
Then, as I finally realized that nobody is right
My wings grew back, not white, but black, and dazzled in new light ...

Tears
At first I thought tears came from a well
Which would eventually run dry
But no, they're like the rain that falls
Which then replenishes the sky
Although these downcast rains are cold
And as they fall, they give us pain
The downpour still continues
A never-ending frozen rain
Which would eventually run dry
But no, they're like the rain that falls
Which then replenishes the sky
Although these downcast rains are cold
And as they fall, they give us pain
The downpour still continues
A never-ending frozen rain
