Ok so I got into poetry a few years ago during a depression. I have gotten a lot of inspiration from one of my favorite bands, Rise Against. I am open to criticism, and would love advice on how to make my poems better.

Pain
What is happening?
Why must I move?
I can't sit still,
Can someone behoove?
Tell me what's wrong
Please tell me why!
I just wanna stop
I just wanna cry.
The pouring and pounding
Goes on in my head.
Like my whole life,
Is hung by a thread.
To escape would be best,
To run from it all,
But afraid I'm to run
Afraid i will fall.
Why must I move?

Until the day of ever come
Until the clouds broke by the sun
Until together til the end
You're in my heart my ver' best friend
We will prove the whole world wrong
And sing out in joyous song
As we live our lives to full
All of the times they're never dull
Nothing will break our bonds of love
Nothing will dare pry us of
What we want and will get
Just wait 'til the best of it

The Path I Travel
I walk the path not usually traveled,
I walk the path that's looked down on,
I walk the path that truly is different,
I walk the path that i am on.
I'm not afraid of what they'll say,
I'm not afraid of they'll do,
I'm not afraid of what will happen,
I'm not afraid cause I'm with you.
I want to be closer than ever,
I want to be away from them,
I want to with my Lord, my Savior,
I want to be away from him.
This war has started to get to me,
This war has started to break me down,
This war has started to finally hurt me,...
I walk the path that's looked down on,
I walk the path that truly is different,
I walk the path that i am on.

The Entertainer
A round of applause
For the man up in front,
Who impresses us
With jokes and with stunts,
The greatest of comics,
The bringer of joy,
How does it feel
To be like a toy?
You make us laugh
And feel like we're high,
But in the secret
You only cry,
For you see you are used,
And that we will soon,
Have a new man
Play the role of bafoon.
You're replaceable man
You know what you see
You wish you were clever,
Not witty, like me,
For soon the day ends,
And you go away,
But as for me son

If I stood by your side
On the edge of time
Hand in hand
Yours and mine
And asked you to jump
No turning back
Would you help me
Lead the whole pack
Ever forward
Ever upward
Maybe sideward
Never backward
We race through the seems
That time had left us
And lead the whole pack
To a new universe
Where time stands still
And fears are no more
Where no one ever asks
"where's the door?"

Let's forget all else
And just be ourselves
Live long throughout time
With nobody else
Wild and free
Just as it should be
Let's us escape
To where none can see
You now be you
And I will be me
Just us two
No worry of three
None to restrict us
None to detest
That's when our world
Will be at it's best

The Only Way I Can Describe Her
There is one I truly love
Who knows my joy, my pain, my fear
She knows how to calm the storm
She's the one I hold so dear
She is perfect in every way
Has a smile that most would die
Personality to make her liked by all
Voice of honey none can deny
Eyes of brown and emerald green
Every strand of auburn hair
Teeth so white they could be blinding
With tan complexion none is more fair
She understands me to the fullest
Knows my hopes, my fears, my dreams
Knows I want to be together
For always we are the perfect team

The Land of the Free
The land of the free
Yet bound by the chains
That hold us in place
As we're left in the rains
As we're watched like a hawk
With no privacy
And are restrained
From what we could be
Equality is
What we strive for
Yet we lock other up
Behind a cell door
Because they are different
We dont understand
We don't even try
To lend them a hand
Of color and sex
Its still that they hate
They show little love
And discriminate
Whatever happened
