Poet Introduction
Ok so I got into poetry a few years ago during a depression. I have gotten a lot of inspiration from one of my favorite bands, Rise Against. I am open to criticism, and would love advice on how to make my poems better.

The Perfect Orphan
The orphan child
Not always so
But came apart
As he must grow
His two protectors
They grew apart
Leaving him
With a cold heart
The harshest eye
To look upon
The world that now
All color gone
And now to see
As truly is
This realm of life
That control is his
He sits and watches
As others still live
And when he's asked
Advices he gives
But it doesn't matter
What-to him-they say
For nothing can block
That saddest day
There was but one
An orphan girl
Who always could

My River of Life
In my heart
And on my mind
I feel like I'm
A step behind
For when I come
To comfort you
All I get
Is a stare right through
Like "are you serious"
Or "you're insane"
Maybe to help
Will be my bane
But I'll try every time
I'll never give up
For when I'm thirsty
You fill my cup
You're my river of life
The spring of spirit
When I grow tired
I draw near it
For the fruit of the trees
That grow near the base
Help me regain
My strength with great haste
You provide me with...

Together We Stand
I love you forever baby
I really do
I love you for always
Just you bring you
I love you eternal
I love you through time
I love you so faithful
I just can't tell thine
How deeply I care for
How much to me mean
Our love is a pure one
Graceful and clean
Though darkness may come
And try to block out
I know that our light love
Will make us two shout
No evil can bind us
No fear can contain
No darkness can hide us
No shame can make blame
No failure will break us
No time will make me
No death shall now...

Performance
The lights are blaring
My knees are jello
Barely any strength
To stand and say hello
It's hard to do it
Go out of my zone
But I'll find the strength
I'd never have known
I have it inside me
Under all pressure
To go out and preform
Of this I am sure
I'll make them all laugh
Or maybe they'll cry
But at end of the night
They'll reach for the sky
Uplifted and influenced
By what they have seen
What I said to them
Only they know the mean
They'll carry it always
On the inside
And look for it's light...

Seconds fly by
The time draws near
Soon I'll be able
To hold you so dear

Not let out of sight

All of the night

Christmas Joy
Smell of cookies in the air
Joyful all around
Children ran up and down stairs
Happiness abound
They will not sleep no not tonight
For soon the hope to hear
The magic of Santa's red sleigh
And all of his reindeer
All curled up but wide awake
The restlessness so high
Heads and eyes to window turned
Now peering at the sky
Waiting for dawn to go and see
The milk
And cookies gone
And rush out to the yard and see
If presents on the law
They'll jump for joy and shout with glee
As Santa did appear ...

Once Too Many
I've done it now
Just once too much
How can I prove her
My love and all such
When I can't keep a promise
About when I'll call
She waited for me to catch her
While I let her fall
And now that she's fallen
I gone down too
Wrap up in darkness
And deep shades of blue
Close eyes eternal
I don't want the light
The life that was worth living
Is a life I can't fight
Without her in it
It's empty and void
Go back to being played
Like pawn or a toy
If only she listens
And decides to stay
Only then again...

"I love you forever"
The letter now read
As the boy thought of what
He wished he had said
Now tear drops and ink stains
Litter the page
As the boy tells the girl
Of his life in a cage
"I can't escape from here
Against all odds I try
I fight so valiantly
To be by your side
But when I think I've escaped
And think that I'm free
There's a new light to the
World I now see"
He addresses the letter
"To my dearest love"
She brings him great peace
Like in war a dove
But she was...

I don't know why though

The way that I see it
Death is always

And to me that says

Symphony of Eternity
There am unending symphony
The world cannot hear
Only I can tell
And hold it so dear
For it comes round not often
And hardly get to be
The wholesome amazingness
It is to me
Only when I'm with her
Can I hear this sound
It gets louder and louder
With every heart pound
For I know her heart only
Beats now for me
