Mom's Monster
I was my mom's child only for a little while
Around 10 years old when I was first defiled
Filled with trust where innocence bloomed
He called me into my mother's bedroom
Dirty old man called it playing around
My first experience of holding sound
I never saw 10 the same way again
Ahead of my youth already fearing men
A fear of monsters who touched my private parts
Even with the lights on, I was afraid of the dark
I was different
I was dirty
I was ashamed

My youngest child is a work of art
Carries her temper deep in her heart
She's heaven-tall and Slim Jim, lean
She'll cuss you out if you make her mean
Walks away when she's had enough
Sensitive Scorpio, built Ford tough
Anger sits because momma said
I couldn't leave it all up in my head
I love my child, my only daughter
I didn't ask to be her mother
She grew in me for 9 months long
She's the one that made me home
Rebelling hard to stay her own

My desires want you
Your independence needs you
My dependence can't be you
Your fence divides you
I can't always say yes to you
While you disconnect to be with you
I'm not mad, please do you
Cus when I'm gone you'll always have you
You contain the deepest part of you
You maintain the man in you
You feed sex to the animal in you
You want women til they need you
Stay back and be you
