The Pounding Flame, A Sonnet
A shaft of honeyed sunlight spreads itself
Upon your breasts; my fingers tease the shadows
Around their shape, recalling there the wealth
Of deepening swelling tightening heat we shared on
Well-loved crumpled sheets, where we melted,
Enveloped firmly in each other's rhythm;
We moved as one in love, slowly sliding
Heartbeat through the folds of sun-soaked evening.
The room is thick with hums of thoughts that built
Within our bodies months before we came
Together once again; feelings now spilled
Inside each other, calm the pounding flame
And...
