Been writing for years on and off. Its great to look back on my old work. Good poetry captures emotion and the moment. Looking back i can read a life story. I am new to reading other poetry, and i am enjoying it thoroughly.

Look on the bright side
Made up of stars
literally
elements are made of dying stars and we are made of elements
A poetic thought more beautiful and pure than anything that can ever be made up or bought
Our ancestors were stars!

Here one second Gone the next
Even if its just an instant
here one second gone the next
regardless of how my life gets measured
numerically broken down into seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, and years
financially broken down into items ive accumulated bikes, boats, cars, houses
broken down through pivotal land marks high school, college different jobs
remembered through memories, and times ive spent with loves, family, and friends.
Regardless of how my life equates,
there is no mental debate
I am privileged to have thrived in the miracle known as life
here one second gone the next
regardless of how my life gets measured
numerically broken down into seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, and years

Good Citizens Obey
They take a little here , a little there
they fuck us all fair is fair
you and I both to blame
we should feel shame
for we have allowed this to happen
but we don't and we wont
showed what's wrong
told what's right
programmed to be an obedient citizen that will not fight
follow the rules
obey the law
close an ear and turn an eye to any corruption you heard or saw
keep your thoughts your own, new ideas are not welcome
buy what's being sold
do what your told
good citizens are not bold

DRUGS POEM

Diseased Liver
Doc said the livers taken some abuse
been drowned to many times
heavy drinker? he asked
I just laughed
damaged diseased livers on my mind
life's in fast forward, no pause or rewind
continue to move
an all out sprint
drank my money pocket full of lint
cant help ponder
I always think..
why is it that I cant turn down a poisons drink
consuming poison for years and years
its no surprise my livers began to swell
with each swallow and gulp
ive been hearing it cry and yell
been drowned to many times
heavy drinker? he asked
I just laughed
