Perfect Summer Night
Eyes closed like the whispers of pillow talk
A cold front coming over the horizon making me balk
Stripping the summer heat from the earth
Lightning electrifying the air giving me mirth
A slight drizzle like a kiss upon my skin
Ever so slight like the promise of a night full of sin
When it's ripped away as the wind whips up a gale
The lightning rips the dark sea of clouds asunder without fail
Squinting against the night becoming day
Falling back into the yard I lay
Soaked to the bone
This weather reminds me of home
Rain...

Not For This World
A world away
And yet within arm's reach
I just desire to be one with you
Through your new wall I cannot breach
Missing you so heavily
I feel like Atlas with the weight of the Earth
Wishing I could solve all your problems with a snap
Sadly I wasn't given that ability at birth
Changes are coming on the horizon
Already I feel weak and weary
I just want to soak in the bliss that is
Already I know these changing tides are going to make me teary
I am so sick of until we meet again
Eternally I want you by my side...

Lost
Maybe you had to lose them,
So that you wouldn't lose yourself.
Whomever said that I must condemn,
Especially with all the darkness from me she expelled.
If I had to choose between not losing myself or her,
The mere thought of choosing yours truly makes me bitter.
How can you choose to say no,
When her simple smile keeps the dark thoughts pressed deep below.
Why would you choose yourself not to be lost when an uncomplicated gaze,
Can have you floating on cloud nine for days.
Even when you're all alone,
The mere thought of her makes...
So that you wouldn't lose yourself.

Trapped
Flexing my vocal cords to cry for help
All that comes out is a squeak
Motivation falling apart as if under a waterfall of acid
Arms are bound by emotions and thoughts making me feel unworthy
I was cheated from the freedom that was within my grasp
I had it all; freedom, happiness, the hope for a brighter future
Like always, it was a self induced illusion
Born from my mind and body
The desire for more of this accursed life
Disgusting inside and out
I can't seem to escape my hell
Forever longing for more
Forever...
All that comes out is a squeak

Splash of Colour
Shape and space are the only thing that differentiates any one person or object from another. The world has no individuality. Nothing unique. If we all shared the same shape, I’d think that we were all merely clones of an original being. We all slump though our lives, eyes on the ground, our feet, or the back of the person in front of us. Ord the Way I Go
Feeling a magnetic pull, in your direction I aim toward
Fearing rejection, I hope this isn't too forward
Beauty is power, a smile its sword
A grin so gleaming, making me say oh good lord
A simple glance from you, makes the blood in my head feel like it has roared
Add a laugh so musical, in my chest it strikes a chord
A simple laugh creating a symphony within my heart, I could swear I just soared
So at one with the rights of the cosmos, I just want to hit record
With a face whose expressions are so magically entrancing, how could I be bored ...

Perfectly Imperfect
There is no one word I could use to describe you
Beautiful, energetic, funny, and smart
Perfectly imperfect could do
But really... That's only the start
Around you I can't get my head straight
Yet it's never been more clear
I feel like this is all bait
Losing you is already something I fear
Finding words has never been an issue of mine
I guess there's a first for all of us
I just hope I'm not being asinine
I pray that this is more than simple lust
The way you laugh and smile
The way your eyes sparkle and shine ...

OBSERVATIONAL POEM

It's Only Me
They smile and laugh.
Allowing their smiles to reach their eyes.
Making them sparkle with what is mistaken as warmth.
They embrace and provide comfort.
All the while keeping that blade hidden in the shadows.
Their voices like a Siren's song.
Lulls the unlucky into a sense of unknowing contentment.
Just before they strike like vipers.
I see it all from my perch.
I am the fly on the wall that sees it all.
And yet,
I'm powerless to stop it.
They smile so sweetly that even I am bamboozled by that sparkle.
The Siren's song...
Allowing their smiles to reach their eyes.
Making them sparkle with what is mistaken as warmth.

My Demons
Floating through the depths of my mind
Unable to maneuver
Slamming into unidentified thoughts
Being sucked into black holes of heavy emotions
I cannot escape
These demons force me to my knees
Thrusting me into my most excruciating thoughts and emotions
Leaving me a quivering sack of repulsivness
I try to hold on to a happy thought
But in reality
It is the most deadly combination of nightshade, hemlock, and taipan venom
Coated to appear like sunshine, rainbows and the possibility of love
But like always I'm the fool that grabbed a hold...
Unable to maneuver
Slamming into unidentified thoughts

Beast of Fate
I have a beast of darkness inside
It doesn't want to seek and hide
He wants to come out and play
Seize the night or seize the day
This beast and I have the same desire
The world will bleed and be ignited in fire
Manacles of humanity
Holding me from immortality
Chains of depression pulling me into the abyss
These emotions I can't resist
Being locked deep within the earth
Fills me with nothing except splendid mirth
Darkness invades the depths of my soul
It is the vital essence making me whole
I send this darkness upon others ...
It doesn't want to seek and hide
He wants to come out and play
Seize the night or seize the day
This beast and I have the same desire

The Sickness
There's a putrid, pulsing feeling
Like a demon within the sealing
From within my skull it must bang
Making me shake and strain
Pushing and pulling my concentration
Taking all of my satisfaction
I'm all the worse for wear
This demon doesn't like to share
It seems to think that it's fair
To throw my boiled mind through the air
I'm battling it to the best of my ability
But it keeps making me lose stability
Leading me down a path of wickedness
I think I might fully embrace this
Like a demon within the sealing
