My mother
My mother

it all started years ago
my mother was a drunk
here sits a child alone
unfed and left to cry
thrown away like old debris
not wanted or be cared
no change of clothes soiled
didn't even bother to try
left in a room for days
my screams echoed empty void
darkness was my only friend
could you tell me why
dropped upon my fragile head
what mother does such things
i'm not sure I deserved
To be left to die

Forgetting time and space.

I am persona of positivity,
I'm not here to deceive.
Raise your, negative, filled mind,
And dry, your crying, eye.
Lift your eyes to search your soul,

I stare at myself in the mirror,
And look upon a strange face.
The aged lines and gray whiskers,
Have crept upon me.
Where is the young man,
Who was so full of life and love?
The strong man with a passion,
That could move mountains.
Twenty years of heartache and loneliness,
Had taken there toll on my soul.
Too much time, Wasted, on negativity,

Throw your hands up and say,
"You won't get the best of me! ",
It's your world,
It's your life,
It's your heart,
Do what you want.
Don't listen to stupid people,
Saying you shouldn't do that.
Take the chance,

Grab life by the balls,
Seize the day,
Live, Laugh and love.
YOU CAN DO ANYTHING.
As long as it makes you happy,

In my dreams, I'm on the Isle,
Laying in fields of green.
The beauty of its rolling hills,
Like nothing I've ever seen.
A little creek flows passed my feet,
A single leaf floats by.
The beauty of this landscape scene,
Fills my spirit inside.
A low rock wall, from long ago,
Leads to a weathered cottage.
I step inside and stoke the fire,
To warm, from my long voyage.
I see the moon, rise from the coast,
And watch a billion stars.
My heart begins to hurt inside, ...

Leaving home their loved ones,
To protect the rights of yours.
Our soldiers pack their gear,
And head to foreign shores.
In jungle covered canopies,
Crawling in the mud.
Carrying out those wounded,
Covered in their blood.
Sleep comes so infrequently,
No hot meals every day.
Thoughts of home spring up,
Bringing tears of joy and pain.
Protect your brothers and sisters,
In a fire fight.
Ducking tracer rounds,
In the middle of the night.
No holidays or...
