Mom
I feel more and more alive,
When I close my eyes.
I slip into the unconsciousness,
And I dream of a better life.
A life without pain,
And a life without sorrow.
If only I could wake up,
And be like that tomorrow.
I tell myself that it's not my fault,
That I didn't do this.
But if I didn't do it,
Then why am I still going through it?
It hits like a ton,
I fall to the floor.
I'm the cause of my destruction,
I'm the one who didn't speak up.
I'm the one too stupid to let them know, ...

Perseverance
No one sees the battle going on inside,
No one recognizes the twists the turns you make.
Think they know you do they?
They haven't scratched the surface yet.
They think you're crazy,
They think you're out for something more.
But no one sees the inside,
No one notices the war.
That's just it though,
They treat you like glass,
And that's what you become.
They push and push,
Until you come undone.
They expect you to be pure,
They expect you to be true.
But with all that, they've created,
How can...

Me
What doesn't kill you,
It makes you wish it were true.
You believe what they say,
The good the bad and the ugly too.
You tell them your alright,
You smile and say your okay.
They ask you if your happy,
You smile while putting on your best play.
You're scared of what they'll say,
Frightened by what they'll do.
The thoughts drifting in your head,
Oh, if only they knew.
Various shades of black,
Covered in hues of purple and blue.
There are the ones that they can't see,
And the ones they can but choose...
It makes you wish it were true.

Strength
Strength.
A foreign concept,
Known not to most.
Shackled and chained,
Worn from your ghost.
The tears that you cry,
Collect in a pool behind.
To be pulled and pulled,
Till all sorrows aligned.
You bend,
You fall.
Give up,
You wish to end it all.
Then you look back,
And you see.
The strength you gained,
You're stronger now,
And the world agrees.
Your world is changing,
You're caught in between.
You cant figure out what's next,
You keep your head up,
But you're...

Pain
I peer into the broken shards of the girl,
I used to know.
I see her standing there,
In pain,
No where left to go.
Hearts bound,
And hands tied.
Words came to me not,
No matter how hard I tried.
I cry not for what I see,
But I mourn inside for that girl I once knew.
I lean in closer, I reach out to touch her,
But only to find a clue.
I can see it now,
The picture painted clear.
She's alone and she's scared,
Her life consumed by fear.
She puts on a face,
Lets no one get...

the moon
The moon,
It seems so far away.
The pale fluorescent light,
Wishing it would just stay.
When she shines,
I feel okay to be me.
Her body dances to her own beat,
Persuading that I am free.
I see him coming,
Out the corner of my eye.
His light takes my love away,
When he faces me,
I start to cry.
The sun,
He reminds me that pain is real.
He brings back the hurt,
And I remember how I feel.
I slip away,
And I fall apart.
Here it goes back to the beginning,
Taking me...
