POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
¤ I don't know what I'm doing.
Thought
Floating from thought to not,
To not think at all,
Is a blessing.
Taking tumbles like taking a drink,
I drown myself in nothing but
The dirt beneath my feet.
Forgive me if I stutter,
My lips aren’t acquainted with the truth.
Not acquainted with freedom.
Much like breathing I hate to move,
My shoes are glued, my feet tied,
I cry.
Take a breath,
Don’t forget to hold it in,
If you keep going, you’ll start a fight you can’t win.
Let words become your actions,
Define yourself with thought.
Keep going ‘till...

Exalt
I’m a broken record.
Nothing new to say.
I’m a second guesser,
Can’t trust me either way.
I’m bad with directions,
And don’t know street names.
I don’t do well with corrections,
And I really love video games.
I’m a mess with no passion,
A fool with no desire.
I lack sufficient compassion,
But I’m a crier.
I’m always confused,
Even if you explain it again.
Don’t ask me where I got this bruise,
I don’t know enough to have forgotten.
I’m made of glass, fragile,
Glistening like stars.
I’m a thread ready...

Word Like These
I stand before a jury, with only words like these.
I stand before a jury, of peers and thieves.
My words have been stolen, broken over bended knees.
My words mean nothing when they are only meant to appease.
I live in the moment, and the moment before,
I live like a prisoner, always stuck wanting more.
But what can I say, what can I do, when there’s nothing I adore.
My hands are empty, my wrists are sore.
I want to sleep forever, and dream of something better.
But my dreams are nightmares, waking me with terror.
Sweat slick,...

Let Me Tell You What Love is
She asked me what love is. So I told her.
I told her that love is a tidal wave, a hurricane, a warm summer’s day. I told her that love is shiver, an adrenaline rush, a thought that won’t go away. I told her it’s something that passes with time and grows in seconds. It’ll fill its mouth with minutes until they bleed into hours.
I told her it’s thinking of them, it’s putting them before yourself, it’s wanting to be perfect. I told her love is acceptance, that it’s a desire, a last hoorah. I told her to shoot it, to kill it.
I told her it will consume her, I told her it will become...

Embers
Eyes follow,
Looking her up
Looking her down
As she does me.
Her gaze like,
Fleece fingers;
Leaving only warmth,
In her wake.
I burn under her eyes;
A living fire,
Threatening
My sanity.
Her gaze is cold.
I shiver.
Her ice meeting,
My open passion.
I want to make love
In the smoke
That will consume us.
Become us.
“Touch me,”
I want to say.
“Beg,”
Her body screams.
I forget to breathe,
As she smiles.
I want arms,
To wrap around.
I want to find...

Dear Father
Do you miss me, despite the time that’s passed between us?
Would you welcome me if I came down on a plane or bus?
Would you hold your arms open and pull me into an embrace?
Or am I what I think I am, a disgrace?
Do you miss me, do you regret what you said?
Would you take it all back to have a day with me,
Like I wish you’d say when I’m lying alone in bed?
Do you wish for a picture just to see?
Do you miss me, a person you’ve never met?
I’d like to think the future is never set.
Do you miss me, do you ever wonder what I’ve grown into,
Like...

Fireworks
A canister of flame and hooray.
Waiting until the loss of day.
Light the wick and wait.
Stars ring, the dark to taint.
Shot off like souls looking to get lost.
Fountain of stars, raining down.
That’s when I find that the ground,
Meets with the sky,
No horizon between the stars that fly,
And the ones beneath my feet.
Waiting until the loss of day.
Light the wick and wait.

Thick Lines
I'm stylized with thick lines
But I find there's a thin line
Between perseverance
And going too far
And pushing too hard
Pardon my lack of endearance
But I'm at the end of my rope
Lost all that hope
That I used to have
I'm tight strung and all worn out
I've covered myself in doubt
You can say it's not that bad
Without worry, I have a roof
Of love, I have proof
And I should be happy, I should heal
Living with all this stuff
But it's like I can't get enough
And I find myself not able to feel
But I find there's a thin line
Between perseverance
And going too far
And pushing too hard
Pardon my lack of endearance
But I'm at the end of my rope
Lost all that hope
That I used to have

Task
I don't know what's wrong with me
But something has to be
I'm sleeping my days away
But the tiredness stays
I'm either crying or empty
But always sleepy completely
And when I open up my eyes
I find an easy way to die
But I shoo myself from that thinking
It's better to smile while sinking
So while I'm still free
And somehow still me
Hold on to this hand of mine
I need you at this time
It's not easy for me to ask
But currently, finding help is my task
But something has to be
I'm sleeping my days away
But the tiredness stays
I'm either crying or empty
But always sleepy completely
And when I open up my eyes
I find an easy way to die
But I shoo myself from that thinking

Secrets
There's a million things I like to be,
My secret is what's inside of me.
I'm scared with no drive to be alive,
And no drive to just die.
There’s a secret inside,
It’s taking my mind,
Leaving only stress behind.
Guess what you’ll find!
I'm empty, a face placed on a mannequin,
I'm cold and lonely and shriveled in sin.
Lost on letters, words on my tongue,
Unable to remember how to have fun.
Remember that moment,
When I sat in contentment
Thinking this was all life had,
Thinking I should be mad?
I remember...
My secret is what's inside of me.
I'm scared with no drive to be alive,
And no drive to just die.
There’s a secret inside,
It’s taking my mind,

Flawless, Lawless
I'm obsolete
And just incomplete
Who are you to see inside
and not make a comment?
Who are you to see me hide,
And sit in your resentment?
Flawless
Lawless
My heart is a war zone
And I'm afraid I want more
I'm simply a clone
Of what was here before
I'm fading out
I'm screaming out
But my words don't reach ears
Can you comprehend?
I'm losing all my air
I'm afraid this is the end
Flawless
Lawless
My brain is a war...
And just incomplete
Who are you to see inside
and not make a comment?
Who are you to see me hide,
And sit in your resentment?
Flawless
Lawless

Behind the Smoke and Mirrors
I never meant to call you out.
Oh, sweetheart, please don't yell at me,
It really isn't hard to see, the truth that's rotting underneath.
Why didn't you tell me truth?
You know, I've always thought she kind of liked you.
She's just a temptress, don't you know?
She'll say she loves you, even though,
she only wants to steal your soul.
I'll save you.
You said you'd always be my friend.
That we'd get married when we both got older,
I'd never heard those words before,
You made me long for something more,
but then she...
