POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Poet Introduction
Poetry's dead? I didn't get the memo...
Hiatus
I was waiting, impatient
For a brain transplant
From some genius child
In some 3rd world shithole
I was practicing living
As a whole, for experience
Decades, it seems, of terrorism
And lonliness in the crowd
I was adding up
The back catalouge to burn
Laughing as I watched
My adolescence go to waste
I was hoping Mojy
Could make it all better
Gave up and mourned
A nonexistent gravestone
I was finished trying
For the fabled masterpiece
But I still feel it stuck
Somewhere up there, in this new light
For a brain transplant
From some genius child
In some 3rd world shithole
I was practicing living
As a whole, for experience
Decades, it seems, of terrorism
And lonliness in the crowd
I was adding up
The back catalouge to burn
Laughing as I watched
My adolescence go to waste
I was hoping Mojy
Could make it all better
Gave up and mourned
A nonexistent gravestone
I was finished trying
For the fabled masterpiece
But I still feel it stuck
Somewhere up there, in this new light

Rearview
the great going on
what’s in the rearview
flashes of light, bursts of energy
screams, like a chorus
lustful, painful, it’s all identical
neon bugzappers of war
commercialism’s fake tendrils
societal norms’ intricate snares
one big flash every halfsecond
enough to contend the doldrums
of a discontented under-a-rock dweller
but enough to break a true soul
and I cannot say I am this
the hypnotic everything
has left me a well-fed psycho
but there’s always that someday
somewhere on this ticking plain
and when I find it
it’ll...

Congratulations are in order
How terrible I must feel
You were the line and border
With collapsed veins, so ideal
And always more to reveal
Finally, that great escape
That gave the world a little shake
Salutations for a martyr
How the skin rotted, but first, peeled
You made this seem like a brief disorder
I’m talking about the fucking wheel
Immortality is firmly sealed
That love of yours, what was its shape
That still keeps the mouths agape?

With collapsed veins, so ideal
And always more to reveal
Finally, that great escape

I am free in the tight space
Look at me without staring
And talk as if I were a child
Who knew everything too soon
If you must, bend the naked facts
In a way that apologizes
For itself, which is something
We all have trouble doing these days
But don’t let the mystery overlap the evidence
This porcelain head cracked long ago
And I’m scattered, but together for you now
So, speak your mind
Look at me without staring
And talk as if I were a child
Who knew everything too soon
If you must, bend the naked facts
In a way that apologizes
For itself, which is something
We all have trouble doing these days
But don’t let the mystery overlap the evidence
This porcelain head cracked long ago
And I’m scattered, but together for you now
So, speak your mind

Oh, Only If We Knew
She looks at year notch scars
Upon her wrist
She hopes her neck will quit
Give up and twist
Oh, only if she knew
Oh, only if she knew
The street corner’s her home
Her life’s refrain
And four good padded walls
For the insane
Oh, only if she knew
Oh, only if she knew
The world twists round her feet
She’s still alone
The two-faced feeling sinks
Below her bones
Oh, only if she knew
Oh, only if she knew
But all the men she meets
Potential loves
A gift from down below
Curse from above
Oh,...
Upon her wrist
She hopes her neck will quit
Give up and twist
Oh, only if she knew
Oh, only if she knew
The street corner’s her home
Her life’s refrain
And four good padded walls

This Idea
This idea came to me
From a mile above
It had magnificent wings
Broad and unbroken
But before I could grab it
It flew away
Probably to someone
A bit more quick
From a mile above
It had magnificent wings
Broad and unbroken
But before I could grab it
It flew away
Probably to someone
A bit more quick

Obscurity
Those who fell within it
Are the objects of our pity
Those who willingly chose it
Are the victims of our apathy
Are the objects of our pity
Those who willingly chose it
Are the victims of our apathy

The Great Straightjacket
The ends are tight
But they keep getting tighter
The great straightjacket
Doesn't know any better
And if you think you've fallen
To the deepest depth
There's one more fathom to discover
But they keep getting tighter
The great straightjacket
Doesn't know any better
And if you think you've fallen
To the deepest depth
There's one more fathom to discover

Which To Choose?
My one hand holds
A shiny premise
Late nights in the lights
Of the maze city
Making the hours last
Stretching them out
Across my body
And her hand’s there, too
That beauty with crystal skin
Hair that wraps around us all
Smelling of peaches and cream
Lips, wet and embracing me
Mind has a little window
To see her creations, running around
They make us follow them
Through the wonderland
And we’re happy forever
The other hand holds
Nothing
A shiny premise
Late nights in the lights
Of the maze city
Making the hours last
Stretching them out
Across my body
And her hand’s there, too
That beauty with crystal skin
Hair that wraps around us all
Smelling of peaches and cream
Lips, wet and embracing me

Why?
I wrote this down at a nice pace
Because I was tired in my dream
Because the sun danced itself to death
Because the daytime wanted a show
Because we the people brainwashed it
Because life is a lovely game of cruel intent
Because my god must be crazy
Because your god isn’t any better
Because most of this is an illusion
Because brains are only edible
Because hunger waits for no man
Because I’m impatient as fuck
Because America is fucked
Because the hordes are coming
Because their lands are foreign even to them
Because nothing’s good...
Because I was tired in my dream
Because the sun danced itself to death
Because the daytime wanted a show
Because we the people brainwashed it
Because life is a lovely game of cruel intent
Because my god must be crazy
Because your god isn’t any better
Because most of this is an illusion
Because brains are only edible
Because hunger waits for no man
Because I’m impatient as fuck
Because America is fucked
Because the hordes are coming
Because their lands are foreign even to them
Because nothing’s good...

Regret the beginning
Open and shut
Manic depressive slut
Asinine reflection
Necrophilia session
Cancer overtaking

Hope Is For Time Travelers
It’s disgusting, really
What little we know
And fortune teller accuracy
The to-the-molecule planning
Carefree reactive aftermath
All riding on it, a definite bet
Losing every drop in the end
Something better, we’re so sure
Nothing matters, it’s hopeless
Stuck in the webs, struggling
Or accepting a one, true fate
Our dissociative lover, waiting
Giving in to its own nature, leaving
The only thing on the mind
The last thing you’d think of
Just today’s tomorrow
Just the future’s yesterday
I hope I never see it
But hope...

All riding on it, a definite bet
