Mouse Eats a Cheese Ball
the scared mouse
with whiskers
left his damp corner
surrounded by garbage
at the circus
the circus dwarf
only plays his harmonica, to
the sound of
Guns n Roses
Welcome to the Jungle
and the mouse
a newcomer to the bed bug louse
ate a cheese ball
and this order was very tall
the beautiful cheese ball
in his weak palms
as he also reads
The King James Version Psalms
holding the cheese ball to his
tiny lips
he rotates his unique
mouse hips
the circus dwarf passed
out from paranoia ...

Granny Pooped on the Bus
she was kind of twisted
she had bread bags for shoes
always sung the blues
hanging around the
projects of Chicago
a lady without a home
but not homeless
chewing tobacco leaves
and spitting the fallen juice
to the caterpillars in
the neon daylight
she boarded the bus
down on 67th and Park Street
bread bags on her feet
played her musical instrument
the finest musical equipment
and granny pulled down her skirt
and looked at the driver
gave the middle finger
and granny pooped on the bus
the...

Apple Orchards Gone to Mush
apples falling off trees
children on their knees
picking up spicy apples
a grandmother often dabbles
an apron dirty
making applesauce
hornets getting a taste of sugar
on dangerous wings
a farmer's life is hard and rough
blue jeans and cow dung
on blue jean cuffs
overalls
cows with big balls
apple orchards gone to mush
don't complain
just work hard
hush
children on their knees

Stir the Pit Bull Stew
the muscular dogs
wearing checkerboard aprons
stirred the chili stew
as the neighborhood dogs
salivated
gravitated
placated
the sweetest chili
on earth
dogs, lining up and barking
some of them with erect tails
farting...
methane filled the atmosphere
and a bunch of onion revealing'
dog tears
yes they were happy
yes they were sad
but the Pit Bulls
served the animals
with a hot dog pull cart
and tiger striped umbrellas
dogs with diamonds in their eyes
sunny skies
jaws filled with...

Mouse Takes Care of Blind Horse
he was a house mouse
and the chimpunks sang--
as the Donkey cart fell
and the muscular horse
fell to its knees
covered in ice crystals
in the cold of the night
but he made it into the barn
a blind horse
and a million mice
sang his sweet name...
and they revived him with
carrot sticks and celery
and a bag of sugar
his eyesight returned
mostly blurry
but he wore a million house
mice on his back
a love attack
and in the morning
the children sung
to the semi-blind horse
the mouse ...

Jumbo the Elephant Went to Rehab
he was in a rage
but never hurt
the children
knocking down
the elephant house
again
Scott got him drunk again
and that is animal abuse--
his trainer was a drunk--
but he slept at Jumbo's
side for 40 years
inside the elephant house
in the hay
cold nights
sometimes in
the barn
jumbo got upset one day
and he had the shakes
he pooped and got sick
like an earthquake
he got a suitcase
packed it full
of peanuts
and he went to rehab
to cure his drinking
of strong whiskey ...
but never hurt
the children

Honest Pit Bull Creed
I am a good boy
I am a good girl
I will never bite a child
I will never bite an adult
I will never bite my master
I stay calm even if
kept on a chain outdoors
I respect the police and
animal control officers
I am strong but I am weak
my master decides for me...
my master is my boss...
please don't blame me
if he abuses me
get me help
please don't put me
in dog fighting rings
or use me in illegal
activity
I am a good boy

if you cannot find a home
for me
please do...

the Lord is with us
