POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
The Song of a Mocking Bird
I saw a mocking bird upon tree,
alone, chirping a tune
the skill of imitation bore he
as it sang amidst the gloom.
Children played among the fields,
adults conversed freely,
but of the bird in the broken still
faces thought him silly.
O beautiful composer of the skies
your deep music is superb,
But can never be fully realized
the song of a mocking bird.
alone, chirping a tune
the skill of imitation bore he
as it sang amidst the gloom.
Children played among the fields,
adults conversed freely,
but of the bird in the broken still
faces thought him silly.
O beautiful composer of the skies
your deep music is superb,
But can never be fully realized
the song of a mocking bird.

Phantoms of the Oppressed
Desire dies slowly
scorched of abandonment
fate bred to face all alone
silence of suffering.
Children cry from distortion
women die on end
the cold sense of torture
killing every instinct within.
Fanaticism, blind cruelty
the mind to be God
debased in nature truly
as blood flows from hearts.
Winds spin- raging eddies
greed bloody, tears
by hypocrisy...
religion, atrocities.
I search the distant blue
death by rules
voices forgotten, trodden
from a world unkind.
The arc divide ...
scorched of abandonment
fate bred to face all alone
silence of suffering.
Children cry from distortion
women die on end
the cold sense of torture
killing every instinct within.

Dream in the Sand
It was a dream in the sand
as teenagers we wished
making dreams, bright plans
with every list.
I haven't seen you in years
but memories are vivid
how it was as youthful peers
growing up in the city.
We grew into men finally,
and parted ways
you a family- I chasing the wind
no two as friends yesterday.
It's hard to hear of your death,
and each moment I think
what is all but all with less
as everything may seem.
You are gone from family,
friends.. tears fall from eyes
but all will see you again
in...

The Day Approaches
The day approaches that will bring fear
faces stripped of all hope
ungodly souls, the truth of seers
stand before the judgment throne.
They sway at thought of an angry God
His broken law of equality
tramp underfoot, now with iron rod
dash all folly.
His wrath has the skies ablaze
the defiant tremble
before the great King, stiff, afraid
the gleaming cross that symbol;
trace every wrong committed
entreaties passed without mention
ignored as some babbling shame
on each lip that uttered praise.
The night sets on...
faces stripped of all hope
ungodly souls, the truth of seers

Love Falls
Her beauty was captivating,
sweet of heart, flustered
within shades of hazel,
searching still luster.
She seemed adrift the tides,
vacant stare of sadness.
Walking lovelorn shadows
on mystic nights.
She was perfect,
the other half of me,
pertinent as sunlight shafts
on a summer breeze.
Late nights talking,
turning from passion to pain;
passing moments walking
under drizzles of rain.
Her skin, caramel candy brown...
eyes of desert sands;
latin, sultry- always around,
yet often sad.
Still...
sweet of heart, flustered
within shades of hazel,
searching still luster.
She seemed adrift the tides,
vacant stare of sadness.
Walking lovelorn shadows

Follow Me In the Footsteps of An Addict
Follow me in the footsteps of an addict
to crack haven avenue
tortured souls,
blind, erractic-
looking through mirrors of glass tubes.
Emotions like stone walls,
hardened faces
having pipe dreams,
the bliss, taking flight on wings
to distant places;
the sweetened lips of crack babies.
Bemused, she sells her jewels
from hell
sex sells and silent mourns
at the bottom of wells
faces lie in nights of dreamless scorn.
Follow me in the footsteps of an addict
with the pipe in the their hand,
and watch them blaze to the sunset...
to crack haven avenue
tortured souls,
blind, erractic-
looking through mirrors of glass tubes.
Emotions like stone walls,
hardened faces
having pipe dreams,

Acid Rain
In the night I hide,
shattered, broken of heart
my soul in anguish
I cannot see far.
Lost in an endless pain,
shaken in a torn mind
defeat spreads like acid rain
as I search the line-
where sky and earth meets
I grasp the tides
somewhere the death of dreams
come to be me.
I look through misery's eyes,
and gaze for the serene,
but only see the bitter lie
though I steady try-
to flee from all the pain
it spreads like acid rain
I face the distance of time,
and begin to sigh.
A sweet moonlit twilight
faded...
shattered, broken of heart
my soul in anguish
I cannot see far.
Lost in an endless pain,
shaken in a torn mind
defeat spreads like acid rain
as I search the line-
where sky and earth meets
I grasp the tides
somewhere the death of dreams

though I steady try-
