I feel so out of touch with society
But so in tune with its emotions
Makes me, wonder what is reality?
What are we living for? These paper denominations?
Or just to hope for a better future
Never bothering to actually listen to your inner self
Although we'd go listen to a six hour sermon by our pastor
Talking about how God can bring you wealth
Then ask for a couple of dollars
Then the stress sets in, bringing down your health
While shackled to a debt collar
All the while emotions are stealth
But why?
To fit in with the norm?...

At a young age I started to look for the light
That pierces the veil of ignorance
It scars to know the truth but I hate the lies,
In a society ran by such
It gets so bad we're asked to curb our personalities
To have proper edict in society
It's a major contradiction to the definition of being human
Human being, what does that mean?
A simple concept most can't fathom
Somethings that can't be taught, but must be seen
Which is difficult in this time
Everyone living behind brick walls and gates
Afraid of the most heinous emotional crime ...

Who was I to you
Were you teething?
Needed a heart to chew?
Or is attention what you feed on?
Using others to your advantage
So nonchalant and caring
With a delicate soul to match it
So I can't stop wondering
What's your story?
What obstacles were placed in your way?
What paths havet you decided to take?
What burdens have you decided to bear?
Will you confide in me?  
Or is it too much to ask for?  
An out of touch reality
That only I see
