My education and work experiences revolved around mathematical figures and computations. Never in my life did I imagine that I could write beautiful poetry; one that comes from the heart. "The Fire Within" is my first published book.

I Dream to be a Country Singer
Who would have thought
I would be driving down the same country road
And feel a similar longing for home
When all the while I just used to
Listen to John Denver on the radio
Who would have thought
I would be watching my favorite country stars
As they perform in the Grand Ole Opry
They were just within my reach,
Yet they all seem so far away...
Who would have thought
A small town boy like me
Would be writing this country song
Someday they will get to sing
Maybe my dreams are not meant to be
I'm a songwriter...

Riddle Challenge
There once was a poet
Who lost his love Lenore
Great was his sorrow
He drank as if there was no tomorrow
What's his name I dare you?
There once was a group of mop-haired guys
Who started a rock band in Liverpool
They became internationally acclaimed
In the rock and roll scene
Leading the British invasion of the US
Originally nicknamed "The Fab Four"
They became later known as what?
These are just examples of my riddles
Whoever got the correct answer
May continue until we're full of riddles

Journey of Faith
I've been soul-searching
Got lost, can't find my way back
Shadow of DEATH lurks
Trying to steal my SOUL
I thirst for KNOWLEDGE
I hunger for the TRUTH
My WISDOM was shrouded
With clouds of DOUBT
Gather around people of FAITH
Let's embark on a new ARK
Sail into the UNKNOWN
And take a giant LEAP
Into the RIVER of DARKNESS
Until we reach the HEAVENLY GATES
It doesn't matter how we get there
As long as we arrive together as ONE
Leaving the RAINBOW behind us
The SEA of TRANQUILITY awaits
For those who walk...

Cherry Blossoms
Like the morning star in Spring
Unveiling the clouds at dawn
Your face glows brighter -
Brighter than the rising sun
Heavenly scents of blooms,
Skin smooth and pure as silk
Rewards those who patiently awaits
Your coming of age...
Innocence now lost--
Virgin forest denuded
No more glory, no more pride
Nothing left but shades of ashes
Heaven mourns your early passing
River banks begin overflowing
While the devils still wanting
Always greedy, never content...
A festival commemorates annually ...
Unveiling the clouds at dawn

Even a Minor Cut Hurts
do nothing Congress--
did nothing to prevent
sequestration...
furloughs and budget cuts
are visible by-products
inflation, the product
medical and educational assistance -
included in the cuts
is it fair to returning vets?
wages and cost of living allowance
lie dormant for years
while you, dumb fat-asses in Congress
shamelessly raise your paychecks
empty promises - politicians at their best
only good when needing our precious votes
where were you when we needed you most?

admire how they write--
erotic poems with finesse
a few of them here
wish I could as well
but don't know where to begin
hope someone could help
experimented once
trying to emulate them
got hooked ever since
newbies writing poems
on sex and drugs and the like
get more reads than mine
came to conclusion
sex really sells - that's a fact
found out the hard way
forgive my rantings
knew I'm not the only one
to rave about this...

Crocodile Cooler
For my 100th piece and recent elevation in rank to Fire of Insight , I would like to share with you my favorite drink and propose a TOAST!
This cocktail recipe was a favorite concoction of mine which was shared to me by a friend from San Jose, California. When I left California for work in Nashville, TN sometime in 1990, my friend helped me drive one of my cars and we went to every country bars in town along the way on every stop-over that we made during the night. That was his incentive for helping me out.
When I was in Nashville, Ruby Tuesday was my favorite hang-out with...

Time Travel
Tonight's the time
to take thy thoughts
to terrestrial tours
Travel through time
transcending tranquil trance
Across the Atlantic aboard an airplane
ascending at an amazing altitude
Amidst an aura of animosity
and aristocratic arrogance
altruistic acts abound
Torrential temptations
thrust through tepid torso
temperatures taken to the threshold
transient torrid tryst
transgressed thyself to the top
Mystical myths of meditations
mutually mastered in mirage
may misfire to misery
Misconceived...
to take thy thoughts
