Alive for You
If you care so much,
why don't you listen?
I'm begging for help in so many ways,
but it seems that you've grown distant.
My mind is my own hell,
my thoughts are eating my insides.
I'm just writing thought filled words
to help me survive.
Do you understand now,
that I'm only alive for you?
I love you more than I love myself,
but do you really love me too?
why don't you listen?
I'm begging for help in so many ways,
but it seems that you've grown distant.
My mind is my own hell,
my thoughts are eating my insides.
I'm just writing thought filled words
to help me survive.
Do you understand now,
that I'm only alive for you?
I love you more than I love myself,
but do you really love me too?

A Poem to Too Many
You hurt me in the worst kind of way.
Oblivious to my excruciating pain,
you allowed my demons
to set fire to the walls I once created.
Your actions were malevolent
and the words you said,
you claimed weren't meant.
Now I'm left here in the dark
with your promises scattered along
the floor like a broken picture frame.
I'm haunted by what I can't replace.
I doubt everything I once deemed safe,
because you were my tranquility,
and now you're just another passing stranger's face.
Oblivious to my excruciating pain,
you allowed my demons
to set fire to the walls I once created.
Your actions were malevolent
and the words you said,
you claimed weren't meant.
Now I'm left here in the dark
with your promises scattered along
the floor like a broken picture frame.
I'm haunted by what I can't replace.
I doubt everything I once deemed safe,
because you were my tranquility,
and now you're just another passing stranger's face.

A Stranger to Me
I peered into the clouded mirror
to find a stranger staring back.
Her eyes were glassing over.
Her hair was messy from self attacks.
Her complexion was far too pale,
besides the bags beneath her eyes.
She remained in her wrinkled night clothes,
for waking was what she despised.
A smile came to her face,
and to me it looked quite real.
Though when her tears came crashing down,
they washed away her shields.
to find a stranger staring back.
Her eyes were glassing over.
Her hair was messy from self attacks.
Her complexion was far too pale,
besides the bags beneath her eyes.
She remained in her wrinkled night clothes,
for waking was what she despised.
A smile came to her face,
and to me it looked quite real.
Though when her tears came crashing down,
they washed away her shields.

Shut up and Talk to Me
Shut up and talk to me,
because I'm sick of wasting precious words.
Tell me about your hopes and dreams,
and while our hearts are still beating,
let me comfort you beneath a blanket of stars
Don't waste your breath
on a sentence with no true meaning.
With one wish left I would ask to see
the most secret part of your soul
that only appears in late night conversations.
Shut up and talk to me,
because I'm sick of standing in shallow water.
I'll show you all my battle scars,
and let hopeful light fill my eyes for you. ...

Not Strong Enough
I'm just a ghost of who I once was
surrounded by self righteous sheep searching for a total sense of justice,
but finding nothing
since it vanished from existence so long ago.
My thoughts accuse me of being a fool
for thinking I could ever be more than the average person,
and for hoping that one day I could solve the unidentifiable mysteries that haunt me,
and live happily ever after.
But that's just in fairy tales, isn't it?
I spent what was plenty of people's lifetimes
trying to...

Our Own Little Language
Minuscule lies were whispered
in perfect time with your inquiries.
Reassuring words were told
so chaotic lives could proceed
without a second of hesitation.
No dramatic scenes were made,
for the truth was more than obvious.
It was always much more simple
to sketch the outline of a smile on my lips,
but only because it would reflect on yours.
We developed our own foreign language,
which consisted of an endless series of symbols.
No one else could comprehend
how we communicated in such a way,
and at times, even...

My Thoughts Destroyed Us
I closed the door and told myself
it would only be for a moment.
I knew all too well what happened
if I sat alone in silence for too long.
But those seconds turned to minutes,
days, weeks, months, years, a lifetime.
I could hear you screaming,
but the words that once brought me back to you
only pushed me farther away.
The door threatened to break off it's hinges,
but even if you managed to get it open,
you would hurt yourself in the process.

I Need You More Than Oxygen
I tried too hard for it to all just crumble away,
and slip through my fingers like sand that was bound to wash out of my reach from the start.
It never should have been possible for me to grasp on to something so tightly,
and to feel I needed it more than I needed oxygen itself.
But it should have been even more impossible for it be ripped from my fingers;
the very ones that still tremble at even the thought of your name.
The once clear picture of you in my mind has now gone blank.
It faded at the same pace as my...
