Staying awake
Autumn leaves are falling now
The same cold wind could knock me down
But I'm warm inside and it's starting to show
I close my eyes; let the cold wind blow
The colors change as the sun starts to rise
Never realized how bright it could shine
Watching the shade move with time
Like the way you move through my mind
It's a new day and there's a smile on my face
Just when I thought the night wouldn't end
It's giving way to the light again
I'm staying awake to take it all in
The same cold wind could knock me down

Broken plans
The rain starts coming down
And you know it's gonna pour
Need some time to figure out
How to make it through the storm
The weight of the world is bearing down
Lying on the ocean floor
I can hear the sound
Of the waves upon the shore
Every beat is crushing me
I can't do this anymore
If I gave my hands
Would you want me like I am?
Broken plans; it doesn't matter anymore
You said I can, if I know what I'm fighting for
Clear my head; My thoughts are waging war
I know I ran, but I won't be running anymore ...
And you know it's gonna pour
Need some time to figure out
How to make it through the storm

Sunny side
Sleeping again, are you dreaming?
When you're weeping, are you screaming
Inside; die a little each time
Hard to forget but it's easy to hide
You thought life would have more of a sunny side
Angry again, are you seething?
Fits of rage keeping you sick for days
Those sad eyes are saying things that give you away
That stone cold face melts when it rains
Stuck in place because you're afraid of change
You've built walls for a reason
Built them tall in a hard season
No one understands why you need them
Trying to climb means...

Catch me if you can
Watching passing lights
Like fading stars in the sky
Hallowed out and swallowed down
I should be miles from here by now
Shallow words aren't working now
This small space suffocates
Blood boiling in my veins
But you keep pushing me around
Put those days of gray away
Shades of red set nights ablaze
It feels right to fly away
Catch me if you can
It's past time, going my way
I'm fine with open skies on the highway
Where I stop, nobody knows

If everything has a reason then
What's the reason for you leaving
I've got my doubts about
Most everything I know
I'm doing all I can
But it wasn't long ago
I watched the silence slip
While you were breathing
I felt your hand lose grip
