The Ugly Inside
There is something very ugly inside me
something that doesn't let me believe
when the sun shines it covers me in shade
when colours are vibrant I see only grey
there's a blanket of joy hovering near reach

Ever so slowly, simmering
my pain, warmed by the tears shed
touching the ground as they fall like delicate pearls
that burst on blades on grass
smoothly sliced in two, as was my heart
