We used to be pretty good friends
Then I told you how I felt
We barely talk now unless it's at work
Soon as 8:30 hits, it's back to ignoring me
I send you a goodmorning text
You reply with nothing but a pic
I ask how your day is going
You don't even reply
I send you a goodnight text
You occasionally tell me the same
I didn't think telling you how great you are
Would be such a bad thing
I have a little regret telling you
Wishing we would be really good friends again
There's only one line of communication ...

The Days
As the days go by
It tears my heart away
Thinking of her and him
Kissing by the Arkansas riverside
Driving through town in his red Chevy blazer
Her hand in his hand
Strolling the lakeside trail
Her eyes looking into his
She's working the register at the local grocery store
He comes in with his dad
They make small talk
I'm over here with a sad look
The days fly by
My heart is on a one way flight
The landing spot is in her heart
Hopefully she turns on the runway lights
It tears my heart away
