POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
I am...
spinning, dancing, flowing
across a glass lake
shining, gleaming, sparkling
sun on the surface
loving, gathering, laughing
friends and lovers together
darkening, clouding, mystifying
fog enclosing the scene
scattering, protesting, reaching
everyone searching for shelter
standing, hoping, waiting
for the sun to rise.

end.
crystallized glass litter
of endless bullets
paved streets of destruction
life flourishes no longer
moon glows on crime scenes
of scandalous murder
The church is burning
flames licking the bell tower
no torrential rain
no fire department
can quench these flames
they are the angered souls
of those passed without a voice.

Autumn Leaves
My open window
even so late into the fall
invites autumn leaves
they tumble
and land
all of them,
they seem to land
on my bedside table.
"Close the window!"
Mama shrieks daily.
"I hate your precious leaves!"
My table has overflown by now
but my window is still open.
Some of the leaves are bagged
in my closet.
The rest are in neat little piles
until I can deal with them.
But the leaves on my bedside table
they stay
And they'll keep coming
just as long as I keep my window open.

Heart.
I am a ship with wind-torn sails
a bird with tattered wing
I am a chair with rusty nails
a lark forgotten how to sing.
My constant quest holds but one aim-
finding thee, who can repair me
to complete me once again
for I shall never leave thee.
Doth not matter wind's direction
nor the turning of the tide
'tis thoust steadfast affection
and unwillingness to hide.
'Tis everything in the world
and nothing I have ever known
'tis my treasure until I've grown old
and above me seeds are sewn.

The Milky Way
Jupiter whispered,
"Hey Saturn, let's go for a spin."
They gave Neptune a ring
and upon his waking, made turmoil on
the Earth's waters.
Venus came to assist her sister
but Mars, angry with Earth because she got him wet,
rammed into the two of them.
With so much momentum, he hit
Mercury.
Uranus was curious about all the commotion
and came to see what happened,
and as Pluto wandered out of the galaxy,
the sun gulped all of them down.

Rock Collection.
I row my lonely boat
through the ambient lagoon
I stop the boat under
a weeping willow tree.
My lonely childhood
has entitled me to
a lonely rock collection.
As there is no one to witness me,
I tip the box of rocks
they tumble over one another
plopping and plunking into the
clear, navy blue water.
Suddenly, I notice one rock
about to tumble out with the rest
I jerk the box back towards me
a select the rock from the few left over.
Those are tossed senselessly
into the lagoon with the others
and I gaze at the rock left in...
