POEMS AND SHORT STORIES
Abyss
The deep ends in bodies of water are no accident
I needed to create a space to hold all the tears I couldn’t wipe away
All the skeletons my closet couldn’t keep anymore
The face I wear at night when I’m alone in my room
It holds the rain I’m thankful for that dispelled the question “are you okay?”
cause we all have a dark cloud following us when it rains
Cause you won’t notice my despair when Gods tears have begun to
Wash me away
Cast me on my isle of desolations
To fall asleep to my lullaby of crashing sorrows against the shore
I needed to create a space to hold all the tears I couldn’t wipe away
All the skeletons my closet couldn’t keep anymore
The face I wear at night when I’m alone in my room
It holds the rain I’m thankful for that dispelled the question “are you okay?”
cause we all have a dark cloud following us when it rains
Cause you won’t notice my despair when Gods tears have begun to
Wash me away
Cast me on my isle of desolations
To fall asleep to my lullaby of crashing sorrows against the shore

The Finish Line
I was always told
I should’ve ran track
I should’ve ran track for how much stamina I’ve built running away from my problems
I should’ve ran track the way I can go in circles
Around the same thing expecting it to change every time I come back around
The finish line looks farther than before
I go faster and faster
But can never seem to catch up
I should’ve ran track
Maybe then I would’ve learned to be okay
With the fact that
Not everyone wins first prize medals but
Everyone still crosses the finish line
I should’ve ran track
I should’ve ran track for how much stamina I’ve built running away from my problems
I should’ve ran track the way I can go in circles
Around the same thing expecting it to change every time I come back around
The finish line looks farther than before
I go faster and faster
But can never seem to catch up
I should’ve ran track
Maybe then I would’ve learned to be okay
With the fact that
Not everyone wins first prize medals but
Everyone still crosses the finish line
