THE HAPPIEST TIME IN MY LIFE

poet Anonymous

Poetry Contest

WRITE ABOUT ONE TIME WHEN YOU WERE HAPPIEST IN YOUR LIFE
We are very dependent on the opinions of others.
If you made 4.0 on your high school graduation then you have
made your parents happy and yourself.
If you are promoted in a job, people may look up to you, however the workload may increase.

Write about a time in your life when you felt really happy without the pressure of having done something to earn it.  Again, it can be a labour of love - if you worked at something voluntarily and it came out good...like first place at a science fair...then that is your CHOICE, nobody FORCED you......

1. submit up to 3 different poems (3 different 1 timers)
when you were really happy

NOTE - you can submit a MAXIMUM of 3 poems
or only 1 or 2....

2. the poems can be any genre

3. the poems can be any length

4. the poems can be old or new

5. more instructions will be posted here
if I forgot any ......

Cheers
Kitty

NOTE - July 25 - similar competition posted:
http://deepundergroundpoetry.com/forum/competitions/read/5609/
If you write for that one, you CAN double post to this one
This is so everybody will be happy......

couldn't decide if i had a thousand feelings or none

or if i was some physical spiritual embodiment
of emotion with a capital e.
why i couldn't know which way or what scale
how many ml. of overjoyed i could be

made up my mind today i could care less

Paint

I am always most satisfied,
When my head is full of cotton.
The blood pounds,
My brain itches,
With thoughts I've long forgotten.

Even so, my hand still moves.
Duty bound by my will.
Eager to spill the paint,
Upon a sheet of white.

I wonder if the image before me,
Was the image inside my head.
Even so, it must have been.
For I would not be aching like so.

My arms are rainbows,
My face a smudge,
My legs a silly mess.

Standing back, I'm filled with pride.
As if I had put unto it,
My very brief and fragile life.

Maybe I have.

Drawing Strength From a Star

in a world so dark and full of pain
and every reason to be insane
within the darkness shining bright
without a reason to see the light

seeing the world as a better place
spreading love with a warm embrace
while fighting demons and kicking ghost
a vision that is lost on most

a simple thought for all to think
a simple vision for us to see
an inspiration for all of whom
fight the dark, the dread and doom

when the universe turns and the power shifts
and this life has taken all there is
with a hug to give and an ear to lend
a special person i call my friend

a connection felt into the soul
a forgotten place I used to know
where my smile has gone to try to hide
you look in me and see my light

you make me see that I can be
full of love AND misery
that its ok to feel the pain
and sometimes fine to be insane

my gratitude I send to you
for being here to help me through
knowing you don't want the praise
it's offered to you all the same

Thank you Taylor!

The competition will end in 2 days - July 28th as there is an identical comp going on and I can find gold in the current poems. Two more days with maybe a few more poems and there will be even more golden poems....
This is just my opinion

HAPPY-GO-LUCKY !!!

The blissful moments of my life
have been crawling since I was nine
I gained the senses for this strange world
Made an attempt to be visible and heard.

Having made the friends with same fears
The school, the teachers, the crying tears
Struggling in the rat race to score well
And running with thrill on the Closing bell.

Raised a little, I started loving my life
Music in my ears and someone special inside
Feeling the chills on the glimpse of "him"
Aah ! It surely got to be some love like thing.

Soon moving out of the fantasy star
All dreams were broken before the start
Learnt to fake the emotions all the while
Only family was there to make me smile.

The small memories are great to cherish
Life is a beautiful song to relish
Keeping the best curve on my face
I promise to be happy no matter what phase.
