The Awakening
I thought
I had somewhere
To be
Forgotten
Memories
Held me captive
Yet somehow
Clarity clawed
Through
The thicket
Of self doubt
Turns out
My life
was just
A stop gate
My confidence
Diverted
My self worth
Abandoned
I lost myself
In the pleasure
Of others
Afterwards
Empty arms
Left my soul
Uninhabited
Those chains
Were meant
To be broken
No longer
Wallowing
In insignificance
In this
Stillness
I rise
