How To Discern a Vampire

Lashings

Of the tongue

Yet

Delivering the flesh rending cruel bites of a leather whip

Shooting

Off at the mouth

Yet

Internally bleeding brutal like hot bullets

Drowning

Out your words

Yet

My hands are around your throat forcing you to remain submerged

So clean of an assassin

Bleeding your kill with invisible weapons

Passive aggressive witchery

Dominating with steel strings hooked on the heart

Though to the trained eye

Your nature is revealed

In the weary lines of depleting life force

Written on the face of your unwell companion
